I made the post on PawBoost and had so many comments. They were offering sightings and also overall support to get her home. She isn\u2019t a \u201cnormal\u201d pet, so a few emu owners offered to come and help. Animal Control was fantastic and helped me when they saw her. She was just too slippery, and we lost her in the woods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you\u2019re all clouded with emotion of losing a pet, it\u2019s hard to remember all the things to do. We were just two feet from the entrance when two young boys rode by on their bikes and skidded their tires right next to us. Startled, Sky jumped from my arms and bolted. I chased her for 10\u201315 minutes, but eventually, I lost sight of her. It was devastating. The area is industrial, full of hiding spots, which made the search even harder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the next six days, I did everything I could to find her\u2014passing out flyers, calling local businesses, and walking the area for hours. Toward the end of the week, I started camping out near the spot where she disappeared, hoping to learn her patterns and gain her trust. I spotted her a few times, always just out of reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then one night, I got there and immediately saw her. I sat quietly about 20\u201325 feet away, not wanting to scare her. She seemed calm with me there, but still hesitant to approach. After 45 minutes of sitting together in silence, she began to walk away. I followed slowly, and she wandered into a storage unit. I knew this might be my one chance. I quickly called for help, and thankfully, a friend rushed over. Together, we safely got her into a crate. Sky was finally safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After six long days, my sweet girl is back in my arms, and I am overwhelmed with emotion. For anyone out there missing a pet\u2014especially a cat\u2014please don\u2019t give up. I could tell Sky wanted to come home, but she just needed time to feel safe. And the best part? As soon as we got home, she rubbed up against me and rolled over for belly rubs like nothing ever happened. Honestly, I think she thought we were just on a little camping adventure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was 0.7 miles away with the nicest people. They finally posted to Facebook and found me right away. PawBoost made it so easy to make a lost pet flyer that I used both digitally and in print. I also loved the automatic post PawBoost makes and the fact that some local vets have access to the missing dog notices. I\u2019m so, so grateful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wrote to the lady, I sent her photos so she could see that Cookie was mine, and we could meet in a place to see each other. We went for my baby, and it’s all okay! We didn’t think we would find her, but yes, she came back safe and sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
