MESSAGE FROM OWNER

A part of our family is missing and our hearts are aching. Please be on the lookout for our cat Mr. President. He is an intact orange shorthair tabby with white patches and some distinctive white spots on his face - 4y/o. Last seen 10/23 Monday morning around Shore Acres and E.149th above Lakeshore BUT may have traveled further or been taken by somebody. Had on a collar with four purple beads in the middle without any information written on it -may have come off. He is very friendly and loves food but may be skittish around strangers. Loud meow-er. He vanished without a trace several days ago and we are fearing for the worst. We have never gone more than a day without seeing him. Please contact us at if you have seen him or have any information about him. Thank you for taking the time to read.

A few things you can try are: cats are active at night and early morning, walk around the outside of your house/building and whisper their name, do not shout it, the less yelling and excitement the better and then listen for a meow. They usually don't stray very far from home. Put his food/water, catnip, and clothing you wore earlier in the day in front or in back of your house, they say cats can smell up to a mile. Do not leave the food out overnight as it may attract other animals that can scare the kitty away. Go to your neighbors and let them know your kitty got out and give them your contact info. Walk your neighborhood, shake the treat jar and talk to people as you walk and taclk to your mail carrier. They see lots of animals and if they see a strange Kitty around they may recognize it as yours. Make sure you call local animal shelters, etc. Cats can disappear for days, weeks, months or longer and return so don't give up!

Sorry to hear about your kitty being lost. Put his/her litter box outside. Once s/he decides to come out of hiding, s/he will follow a familiar scent to its source. Check around the box often, especially at dusk and dawn. Also look up all tall trees in your neighborhood, since most cats have a habit of climbing trees when chased, and then being too afraid to climb back down. Hope Mr. President comes home soon!
