When we lost our indoor cat, we got good advice that helped him return. I am sharing it in hopes of helping others. We got in contact with tracking places and they suggested that we put out feeding stations that include makerel, water, kibble and your unwashed clothes. Surround in powder to track pawprints. This will keep them in area or draw them back to the area and. We put stations near a shed or porch so he has a safe place to hide from predators. Most cats stay in a 4 house radius so concentrate in that area. Check and change daily. We got trail cameras too. That way you can see what time and if it is your cat eating. When many cats get out, they get in a feral fearful survival mode and won't come out until they break out of it. This will help with that.
