Cat tips... place a piece of dirty clothing outside or his cat bed or blanket so he can smell home. Go outside every 30 minutes calling his name with chicken or tuna they love chicken or tuna heat it up so it smells stronger or shake a bag of treats or tap a can of wet cat food standing in one spot on your property. Please don't leave food outside. Go outside at night every 30 minutes with a flash light look under cars in wheel wells and under bushes and up trees calling his name softly and listen for his meow. Ask neighbors to look inside their garages sheds and under decks inside car trunks hoods under BBQ covers behind sheds garages and under stairs. Put up posters and flyers in your neighbourhood mailboxes. Ask neighbours to check their camera footage. Leave a bat window open if you can or your garage door open a small amount for him to get back inside. Try to sit near the open door or window so you can secure your baby. People have suggested emptying the contents of your vacuum cleaner on your front and back lawn so he can smell home. They come out at night when it is quiet. Please go to the humane society daily if you can, a lot of cats look alike . Please don't put his litter box outside it will attract other cats and predictors. Please many fur baby parents have messaged me saying that they found their furbabies and these cat tips work. Shared with prayers you find your baby. I pray that these cat tips help you find Gio

Also look into getting some motion sensor cameras. They will help you see if he is coming around at night. They will let you know what kind of animals are coming into your yard - if there's lots of territorial males chasing other kitties away. Please catch as many strays as possible and take to a 24 hour Veterinary clinic. They can check them for mirco chips or tattoos and hopefully find their families. Or keep them safe until Animal Services can pick them up. It's a win win. Less territorial cats chasing or fighting with your kitty and less cats breeding while homeless. Plus with winter many cats will freeze - starve or be eaten by coyotes or bobcats or hit by cars. I really hope you find your sweetie safe and soon.

Please don't give up looking - he's probably hiding somewhere close. Go out and take his favorite treats and call. Ask your neighbors to check their garages - sheds - under stairs - decks and bushes. He's probably hiding somewhere close and feeling scared and confused. Ask your neighbors to check more than once - cats are very good at hiding. Check at night late when it's quiet as that's when he may feel safer to come out. Put out his some of your worn clothes. The scent will help him find home. Go out at night when it's quiet and take his favorite treats. Call him softly and listen for soft meows back - especially near garages and sheds he may have become trapped inside. Take a flashlight and look under bushes and other hiding places for reflective cat eyes. Ask your family and friends to help you make posters and put them up all over your neighborhood - especially near stores and your community center. Call Veterinary clinics and animal shelters in case someone brought him in or called about spotting him. Post on YYC site too - they have a very large following. Don't give up - keep looking especially at night. I hope you find him soon. I'm sharing. Please post in YYC group too. They have a very large following. The more people looking for your kitty the better. Please also consider building a catio for your kitty. Catios can be any size or shape and they keep your kitties safe. They also save the lives of many small song birds. Please consider building a catio - you can Google them for ideas. I hope he is found safe and soon.

Please go door to door and ask in person if your neighbors can check garages and sheds for your kitty. Kitties can hide very well - and may stay hidden for days. So checking more than once makes sure you're kitty isn't trapped somewhere. The more you go out and look for her - the more likely you'll find her. Don't give up - sometimes it takes a week or more for kitties to come out of hiding. Keep checking inside people's garages and sheds - always with they're permission please. Most indoor kitties don't go far - but they hide really well and some take a long time to come out. Please keep searching and calling her name.

PLEASE READ. THIS IS SO IMPORTANT. IF I HAD READ THESE TIPS I WOULD HAVE MY FUR BABY BACK NOW! Go out looking for kitty. Start searching immediately. Don’t wait for him/her to come home on their own. Kitty is likely close by, may be scared and hiding. Take a can of tuna or smelly cat food with you or kitty’s favourite treats. Look under neighbours decks or steps but don’t give up. So many dangers out there such as coyotes, owls and not so nice humans. Kitty is counting on you. And...this is so IMPORTANT ....!!! If you don’t find kitty today, go out late tonight when it’s quiet and calm around midnight or later and sit on your front steps or back steps and talk out loud softly and say his/her name over and over like you are reading a story book. Be patient it may take some time and more than one night but if kitty is close s/he will hear your voice and come out of hiding. This has worked for me a couple of times. Also leave a window or garage door open so they can get back in when they come back. Good luck. Hope your fur baby makes it home soon. Don’t give up.
