Penny's Owner/Finder Says
💛💙 After 22 long days missing, 9 days being invisible, without a sighting - 🐶 Penny is safe ! A puppy mill dog (just adopted), she backed out of her collar and ran down Bay Ave. Thankfully she stormed into the awesome community of Huntington Bay who were so willing to help. Wonderful families let us put up feeding stations, cameras and flyers on their properties. We covered all bases to ensure Penny was not stuck and suffering. We are grateful for the patience and understanding. Penny's owners; Steve, Kirsten and Olivia were all in committed to finding her. We had another needle in a haystack search! There were many ups and downs over these 3 weeks. Teddy, Lynn and Charmaine staked out many nights waiting to see her movements. At one point Teddy was able to spot her from the drone in the middle of thick brush and found where she felt safe. Penny was not food motivated at all, and leary of the trap we set. She was stubborn! Teddy was now sure of her approximate location and today, with the help of amazing animal rescuers we surrounded the property line and the thick brush area she was in. The hope and game plan was we would push her in a specific direction where we had erected a fenced area to block her, corral her. She was heard making her way through the thick expansive brush and all going as planned. Then the thunder, lightening and heavy rain started but that didn't stop any of us. There were catch poles, snares, some awesome dirt diving that got Penny to safety and great teamwork! She is at the vet but seems to be doing well. We would like to thank the Huntington Bay Village Police, The Iavarone Family, The Pugliese Family, Barbara Beuerlien, Lou, Mary for allowing us on their property.
