Have you handed out flyers to neighbours and checked peoples’ yards? You may want to invest in a trail cam to watch to see if your cat is coming to visit late at night and in feral mode or rent a humane trap from Calgary Humane Society or Meow Foundation to trap them. Be aware that City of Calgary regulations state that traps cannot be set when the temperature is below 0◦C or above 25◦C. Ensure your microchip and tattoo information is up to date with your current info . Sorry to hear about your missing pet! Losing a furry friend is heartbreaking. Hi Sydney Anderson So sorry your kitty is missing. We have posted to the main timeline Wall. Please put used kitty litter out, their bedding & your shoes or worn shirt. Go out very late at night and talk for an hour or so. You may want to leave a window or garage door partially opened if you feel safe to do so. If he/she is an indoor or shy cat, they usually don’t travel far from home - usually within a few houses. They will find a hiding place nearby so do a slow methodical search thoroughly under decks, sheds, bushes in your yard and neighbors’ yards. Talk to your neighbors in the area & see if anyone brought your kitty inside. Please report to Calgary Animal Services at 311, local and emergency vets. Please ensure you email intake@meowfoundation.com to report your lost cat OR via their contact form at https://www.meowfoundation.com/about/contact/ or phone 403.230.6033. Also search and post on kijiji.ca & helpinglostpets.com and your local community pages like Facebook and Nextdoor. Ensure your microchip and tattoo information is up to date with your current info. Hand out posters to neighbors within 3 blocks and ask if they can check their outside cameras. You may want to invest in a trail cam to watch to see if your cat is coming to visit late at night and in feral mode or rent a humane trap from Calgary Humane Society or Meow Foundation to trap them. Cats and dogs that come into Calgary Animal Services (CAS) without id may be made available for adoption as soon as the fifth day. If you see a cat that you believe may be your kitty contact them as soon as possible. The Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS) and affiliated partners including Meow Foundation and Calgary Humane Society now manage pet adoptions for CAS.
