****UPDATE **** AS OF 8/26 WE ARE STILL LOOKING!!! THE REWARD FOR THIS DOG/FAMILY MEMBER HAS BEEN QUADRUPLED!!! WE ARE NOW OFFERING $2000 FOR HER SAFE RETURN OR ANY INFO LEADING TO HER SAFE RETURN. PLEASE.... IF YOU HAVE HER... WE LOVE HER. WE JUST WANT OUR BABY BACK.. NO QUESTIONS ASKED... PLEASE. ???? Please help us find Dakota!!! She is a brown and tan pomeranian chihuahua and weighs no more than 10 lbs. She was lost 7/3 off of portsmouth blvd near victory crossing!!! She took off because she was scared of the fireworks. She usually stays right by my side... She is timid but will not bite. She was last spotted on Rutter st in Portsmouth or near the mlk expressway... she has also been spotted near TCC and also near the taco bell on portsmouth blvd so we believe she could be anywhere in between. She has a pink collar with a tag that says "My owner is my best friend". ????????????????????????

A few helpful tips: Start searching ASAP!! You need to start knocking door to door in area lost. Post paper flyers everywhere right away. When looking in neighborhood, walk instead of drive it helps leave familiar scents. Look in hiding places, such as under bushes in window wells etc. Put owners dirty cloths and blankets outside with treats and water. The familiar scent can be smelled for miles. It can help find the way home. Also check shelters daily. The chips often fail and shelters only hold animals 5 days before putting up for adoption. Also post on next door app and the many lost dog sites in your area/state. Walk your neighborhood in increasingly large circles around your home. Your footsteps will give your puppy a scent trail home. Repeat! Give your mail carrier a photo, description and information so he can keep an eye out for him. Also take same to the local Post Office and give to your newspaper person. It might help if you can find a dog tracker. Your local law enforcement department may know of one or may be able to help you. Also, leave flyers with any gated community guards and post them in all your local veterinarians’ offices, grocery stores and post offices. GET A DOG TRACKER!!!
