Likes to hide in car engines?! Do you realize how freaking dangerous that is ?! Never should have been allowed out. I pray she's safe.

Go out with the flashlight tonight and call for him. Carry a little can of treats with you as a way to entice him. Look under decks and porches, look up trees because sometimes cats who are afraid will climb a tree, look in locked backyards and sheds. He may be stuck in somebody’s backyard and unable to get out. Walk around and call for him and bring something with you when you go out to secure him if he comes to you or if you see him. Leave your window or door open just a crack so if he makes his way back, he can come right in the house. Put something familiar to him that has your scent on it near your door and window. Make sure you post flyers with his photo on it and go to your local humane Association with a photo of him and your contact information on the back of it. Check with them daily to see if somebody brought him in because sometimes if you call, they may have a cat that looks like him so you want to be sure. Put a flyer up on your car so when you drive around people will see that you are looking for your cat and if they are your neighbors, they may be able to contact you if they see her. If you see him, do not walk toward him but sit down on the ground and gently call him because he’s probably afraid and if you walk toward him he may walk further away from you. My kitty was gone for six weeks and she was an indoor only cat. She came back skinny and scared, but she was happy to come home. It took us two days to get her to come back in the house, but we coaxed her with an open door and a dish with food in it. If you have a garage, leave the garage door open and litter box in it. Make sure you put water out for him too. Look for him and call for him. He knows that you care and that you want him home. Sending you and him positive energy for her safe return

Let your neighbors know - post flyers. Go out looking at dawn and dusk, and after dark - use a flashlight and look for eyeshine. Think like a cat and check all the hiding places - he may be trapped in a shed or garage. Put his cat bed and dirty clothes or blanket that smell like you outside your door to help him smell his way home. Good luck.
