For owner: I am sad to hear about your cat. Place “dirty” laundry or bedding with your scent and his on it in your yard. Do not put his litter box or food outside. It could attract predators. Tell all your neighbors and ask them to check garages, sheds, under decks and porches, etc. Make posters on brightly colored poster board and post them in your neighborhood. Look for him at night using a flashlight. The light will reflect in his eyes. In the evening, when the neighborhood quiets down, go outside and call him quietly. If you can leave your door slightly ajar, it would be helpful. If he is normally an indoor cat, they generally stay close to home but hide. Good luck finding your fur baby.

Do this ASAP Put out items with your scent on it, like an item of dirty clothing, towel, blanket, sneakers. Put vacuum dust outside since It contains home scents in it. Leave out a bowl of water. If possible leave a Window/door/garage cracked open with smelly food inside (sardines in oil/tuna).DO NOT put litter box out it will attract predators. Call as may times as possible, but night time is best Because its quite. Ask neighbors to check garages, sheds and under decks and their security camera recordings in the mid morning hours since cats are more likely to come out when it's quiet during the night. Put up 11x17 poster in neighborhood. Use a flashlight at night because you will see the reflection of their eyes. Shake treat bag as often as you can. Post on Nextdoor Neighborhood app and your local town community page..shared
