DESCRIPTION
Our 1 year old puppy, Pepper, ran away on Westbriar Drive near Emmaus Church around 9:30pm on the 4th of July when the fireworks started. She is a female black Labrador/Terrier mix, 60lbs, but fairly skinny. She should answer to her name (Pepper) and may be scared or skittish, but doesn't bite or get aggressive. She has white markings on a couple of her paws. She was spotted off Maple on Saratoga and up and down Old Courthouse Road all the way up to Creek Crossing. It's now been two overnights and no signs of her since the night of the 4th. I am really hoping that she is hiding out somewhere and will venture to people if she gets hungry enough. Please be on the lookout

Pepper's Owner/Finder Says
She's home!!! Super skinny and some cute and scrapes, but HOME! I can't say thank you enough for all the support, the people walking all over, the people driving all over, the shared stories, comforting words. It wouldn't have happened without all of you. Together, we can do amazing things. ❤ Two women were walking their dogs this morning in Springlake Park and the dog led them a different way today. They spotted a black dog and I had a nextdoor message and a phone call within the next few minutes. They had taken a picture and it was 100% her (she has some white on her toes). After a few minutes of screaming and happy crying, my husband headed out to lure her back with him. I didn't know that lost dogs don't recognize their owners as they are fight/flight mode, so he sat down and started snacking on some watermelon and hot dogs and never looked directly at her. He literally was making mmmm sounds and managed to sneak closer to her and clip her collar. If we had followed our instinct, she would have been scared and run away. Thankfully we got a lot of advice that told us otherwise and our girl is back!
