MISSING CAT ($500 reward if found) My cat, Ziggy is still missing in the Hidden Valley/NW Calgary area. He was last seen on August 8 in Hidden Valley near the Valley Creek and Seton schools. Ziggy is 3 years old, he is a medium size cat with 4 white “sock” feet. He has white fur around his stomach and neck that does not extend to his back. On his back, arms and face he has a zig zag pattern in black. He is also fixed. He answers to the name Ziggy. Ziggy is not fearful of people and will usually approach, but is not always super friendly and likes his space. I anticipate that he will be scared and on edge now though as he has been lost for so long. He is likely hiding somewhere. If anyone has seen him, or finds him, or a cat that even slightly resembles him, please send me a message on here or call or text. If you live in the area i would really appreciate if you could check under your decks, in your grges and sheds. If you have a hse camera and have seen him come by, that information/footage would also be invaluable. We are absolutely crushed about this situation and miss Ziggy dearly… our other cat is also very sad and depressed and has not been eating since Ziggy left. Any help or information is greatly appreciated. We are offering a $500 reward if he is found and either taken to the nearest vet or we are contacted directly. He is microchipped.

Make sure you make up posters and spread them around the area. Call all rescue organizations, vets in your area and the city everyday. Opening a window or garage door a bit with his food inside. Motion cameras are good too.

You may have to borrow a live trap from an animal rescue. I think The MEOW Foundation lends them out. They can also be bought from Canadian Tire or stores like that. Place the trap in a safe area where you can see it all the time and put some warmed canned tuna inside. Canned tuna can be smelled for a long way - it should bring hungry kitties running. Never leave it set up over night. During winter it is very important to watch it so no kitties freeze. If you catch a kitty please take it to a 24 hour Veterinary clinic and they can check it for a micro chip or tattoo. Hopefully they can find it's family soon. Any kitties you can catch will be much safer at a Veterinary clinic or The Humane Society. They will be safe - warm - fed and not have to worry about coyotes - bobcats or cars. The less kitties alone and starving on the streets - the better.

Also look into getting some motion sensor cameras. They will help you see if he is coming around at night. They will let you know what kind of animals are coming into your yard - if there's lots of territorial males chasing other kitties away. Please catch as many strays as possible and take to a 24 hour Veterinary clinic. They can check them for mirco chips or tattoos and hopefully find their families. Or keep them safe until Animal Services can pick them up. It's a win win. Less territorial cats chasing or fighting with your kitty and less cats breeding while homeless. Plus with winter many cats will freeze - starve or be eaten by coyotes or bobcats or hit by cars. I really hope you find your sweetie safe and soon.
