TOP TIPS TO FIND YOUR CAT QUICKLY! Cats: 90% of lost cats are found within10 houses of their home (ASPCA, 2019). I find many are uncomfortable knocking on doors, but it's important to get your pet back IMMEDIATELY because coyotes love to eat cats and jump the fence in a second. Coyotes are everywhere right now you can't afford to just post & hope your pet is found. They can jump a fence like a mountain lion. I have watched multiple videos of coyotes with cats. The cats fight with everything they have for 2 to 5 minutes before they lose the battle. Their owners never come. It's horrific. Every night they are on the street could be their last. Go knock on your neighbor's doors and ask them to check your backyard while you wait. Cats get scared and hide and will not come out even if you call them. Also I saw someone said the other day that she sprayed catnip oil all over her yard and her cat came back. They sell it at PetSmart. Do not listen to people that say put litter box outside coyotes can smell cat urine one mile away. After dark take the flashlight and shine it in the bushes and look for eyes also. Put flyers up right by your house because he's likely in someone's backyard and put a reward on it if you can just to inspire everybody to be looking. Ask people on next door and neighbors by ring apps to please check their ring Cams. DO NOT PUT THE LITTER BOX OUTSIDE! People don’t fact check or consider who is posting it, before sharing advice. No credible research supports a cat can smell its litter box from a mile away!!!!! BUT coyotes can smell fresh cat urine less than 24 hours old 1-3 miles AWAY! Older cat urine 24 to 48 hours 1/2- 1.5 miles. Coyotes detect scents several hours old. Their sense of smell is estimated 10 to 20 x more sensitive than ours. They track prey over long distances. Advice to leave a cat's litter box outside is a large myth from Internet folklore and anecdotal stories.

For Lost cat do immediately Cats do not wander far from home. Try putting some of your dirty clothes outside sometimes a familiar smell helps them find their way home, even their cat bed. Put water out but no food. Cats usually don't go far.. They hunker down in the daytime especially in the heat and come out at night. Put up fliers talk to neighbors check under shrubs, sheds anywhere it is quiet and safe and would make a good hiding place... Check at night with flashlight don't give up💕sharing with prayers. Make sure he isn't locked in a neighbors garage. Dusk and Dawn walk neighborhood shaking a treat bag calling his name. Sending prayers🙏 There is controversy about putting dirty kitty litter box out, some say "Their" smell attracts other animals(coyotes etc) and others say it helps the cat find it's way home. Your call on this. If microchipped check info to make sure current and ask company to flag as Missing/Lost. Don't give up❤️Post on your local NEXTDOOR. Since they don’t go far possibly a neighbor has seen. Put up flyers
