Prince William County, VA - Lost Dogs, Cats & Pets thank you for allowing us to post about the missing of our bird. I want everyone to be aware that Debby Mark is a scam. She initially told me her neighbor had found Meki and gave me a Google phone number to contact. I spoke to a man who claimed he had Meki and instructed me to meet him at a 7/11. We were thrilled and went there, but then he asked for a $100 reward ($50 upfront via PayPal). I was more than willing to pay the full amount in cash if he actually returned Meki to us. However, Debby started insisting I send her the $50 upfront, supposedly to hold it for her neighbor. It became clear that this was all a scam, preying on people’s desperation when they’ve lost a beloved pet. They took advantage of our vulnerability, and my entire family was heartbroken—especially my 12-year-old, who cried all night. Please be careful and don’t let anyone take advantage of you during such a painful time.
