This baby was walking down tower rd in the rain during the morning rush so i scooped them up. The baby is safe and dry, and missing their family.

Janet Olin he's scared and high strung, I just hope they don't think he's mean or unadoptable, but they know more than I do about dog behaviors I'm sure!

Maeve Cosgrave I've worked with the shelter as a volunteer since 1991! We worked hard in 1995-96 to have the shelter moved from next door to the solid waste tanks to Tom Brown Park, representing the Leon County Humane Society. I've adopted directly and fostered through both the LCHS and Tallahassee Big Dog Rescue. The exposure the dogs especially receive via WCTV's Furry Friday is incredible. I have also dropped off found pets without microchips and then followed up with them if unclaimed, and available for adoption. There are those who cite the euthanasia risk, and that's really a people problem. If the animals are adoptable, as in healthy, good attitudes, the staff will hold onto them well over a year, promoting the animal on TV, radio, and social media. So, clear conscious, okay? And if there are naysayers to any of this, just know that you did right by this dog.

Janet Olin thank you for this. The thought of leaving him there is so hard.

Maeve Cosgrave The shelter really is a safe place to take the dog. Yes, it gets loud, but most pet owners check the shelter, either in person (best) or online. He will be fed, receive medical care if needed, and if no owner comes forward, be adopted to a forever home. You did great keeping him safe.
