TIPS TO HELP FIND YOUR LOST DOG:
- Immediately call microchip company to report your dog lost & update your contact info.
- Put dog's bed, a piece of your unwashed clothing & bowl of water (no food) in your front yard.
-Post on nextdoor.com
- Hang flyers (use a large, bright board or paper) w/your dog's picture & your contact info. Hang in your neighborhood, surrounding areas, local shopping centers, businesses, vet's offices, groomers, etc. Hang flyers in at least a 5mile radius of your home.
-Put a large sign with your dogs picture in your front yard stating your dog is missing.
- Go door to door to neighbor’s w/flyers.
- File lost report with shelters in your area & surrounding areas (you can often do it online)
- Check shelters in person daily. Ask to see dogs in isolation & deceased dog list. If you can't go daily check shelter's website.
- Check shelter's found reports for dogs found but not at the shelter.
- Take flyers to shelters.
- Post on lostmydoggie.com, helpinglostpets.com, californialostdogs.com, petharbor.com, findingfido.com, pawboost.com, findingrover.com
- Post on Facebook area lost & found pet, community & shelter pages, in newspapers & on Craig's List.
- Check the sites above for found pets & pets for sale.
- Make bumper stickers/magnets to put on your car.
