Taco was adopted from the Hill Country Humane Society in 2021 as a kitten. I’ve had them their entire life, and much like Johnny, they have been spoiled rotten—until recently, when unforeseen tragedy struck my family, devastating our lives and tering the comfortable standard of living I spent over two and a half decades building. Career struggles, setbacks—things I once thought were huge obstacles—now seem minor in comparison to what I’m facing today. But I overcame them all, and for a time, I achieved great success. But as they say… all good things come to pass. Life threw a curveball. A lifelong disability I had learned to manage resurfaced in ways I didn’t recognize until it was too late. In a perfect world, I would have been granted an accommodation. But we don’t live in a perfect world. Instead, after five years of solid performance—without ever taking a vacay—my job decided that my disability was a liability, despite the ADA’s protections. Losing my job led to losing my and most of my personal belongings. But through everything, I never abandoned my pets. That was never an option. Things come and go, but living creatures aren’t disposable. They’re not something to be tossed aside like yesterday’s garbage. It wouldn’t surprise me to find out that the same people who took my dog also took Taco. Soon, I’ll know the truth. But in the meantime, if anyone has seen my cat or my dog, please, please reach out. I may be broke, but I do everything I can for my pets—despite the lies spread by those who have tried to smear my name. I will try to offer a reward for any information that leads to the safe return of Johnny or Taco. They mean the world to me, and I would do anything to bring them .
