Cat tips... place a piece of dirty clothing outside or his cat bed or blanket so he can smell home. Go outside every 30 minutes calling his name with chicken or tuna they love chicken or tuna heat it up so it smells stronger or shake a bag of treats or tap a can of wet cat food standing in one spot on your property. Please don't leave food outside. Go outside at night every 30 minutes with a flash light look under cars in wheel wells and under bushes and up trees calling his name softly and listen for his meow. Ask neighbors to look inside their garages sheds and under decks inside car trunks hoods under BBQ covers behind sheds garages and under stairs. Put up posters and flyers in your neighbourhood mailboxes. Ask neighbours to check their camera footage. Leave a bat window open if you can or your garage door open a small amount for him to get back inside. Try to sit near the open door or window so you can secure your baby. People have suggested emptying the contents of your vacuum cleaner on your front and back lawn so he can smell home. They come out at night when it is quiet. Please go to the humane society daily if you can, a lot of cats look alike . Please don't put his litter box outside it will attract other cats and predictors. Please many fur baby parents have messaged me saying that they found their furbabies and these cat tips work. Shared with prayers you find your baby. I pray that these cat tips help you find Oreo

Have you tried all these tips - put out used bedding & your shoes or worn shirt. Go out late at night, talk for an hour or so. You may want to leave a window or garage door partially open if you feel safe to do so. If he/she is an indoor or shy cat, they usually don’t travel far from home. They'll find hiding place nearby so do slow methodical search thoroughly under decks, sheds, bushes in your yard & neighbors’ yards. Talk to neighbors. report to calgary animal services 311, calgary humane society, local & emerg vets. Ensure you email intake@meowfoundation.com to report lost cat OR via contact form at https://www.meowfoundation.com/about/contact/ or phone 403.230.6033 search, post on helpinglostpets.com & local community pages. Ensure your microchip & tattoo info is up to date. go to Calgary Humane Society in person. Post on YYC Pet Recovery and If you haven’t already, go door to door in your community asking your neighbours. There is a good chance the cat is hiding in someone's yard. We found our cat once 7 houses away, he had been hiding under their deck and they took him in.

You may have to borrow a live trap from an animal rescue. I think The MEOW Foundation lends them out. They can also be bought from Canadian Tire or stores like that. Place the trap in a safe area where you can see it all the time and put some warmed canned tuna inside. Canned tuna can be smelled for a long way - it should bring hungry kitties running. Never leave it set up over night. During winter it is very important to watch it so no kitties freeze. If you catch a kitty please take it to a 24 hour Veterinary clinic and they can check it for a micro chip or tattoo. Hopefully they can find it's family soon. Any kitties you can catch will be much safer at a Veterinary clinic or The Humane Society. They will be safe - warm - fed and not have to worry about coyotes - bobcats or cars. The less kitties alone and starving on the streets - the better.
