1. Ask around, in your area, development, any neighbours who have video doorbells and any surveillance if they captured your pet running thru their area Ring, Blink, SimpliSafe, etc are helpful. Ring has an app called Neighbors. There's also Lost/Found Pets pages by municipality and county on Facebook, @threads, instagram, twitter, nextdoor, in case someone picked him up. Someone may have posted him as found on Pawboost, myLostDoggie or @Pet connect. There's a google lost pet alert automatically posted on google when you make a pawboost alert
Posting on @lostmydoggie.com will get poster notices faxed to all PDs, FDs, animal hospitals, groomers, pet stores, etc.
Then of course, someone may have picked him up, kept him, put him on CraigsList or he may be at Broward Animal Care and Control, any municipal animal control, with a rescue, or even, believe it or not, @dachshund rescue south florida where president @pam Weiner's motto is,
"at #drsf all dogs are dachshunds"
Pam loves all small and mediun dogs, especially seniors and mostly loves maltese and maltese mixes, well, basically just about any small dogs, no matter the breed. Her volunteers are notorious for picking up what appear to be strays, but are probably only lost, bringing them back to #drsf to be put into their foster and adoption system, regardless of state statutes or ordinances regarding hold requirements. They never report the found pet to @broward animal care and control or @pet connect
