MESSAGE FROM OWNER
LOST CAT!! UPDATE: This little guy is still missing. I figured that I would post again, now that the weather is warmer and everyone is outside more often. I still put food and water out and worry about him everyday! If someone else is caring for him, please just let me know that he is okay. MIssing Stray Cat - Last seen on Dune Court, Northport. A very frightened and confused, abandoned cat showed up looking completely lost on my street two years ago. He was just walking up and down the sidewalk meowing his head off for the first two days (it was pathetic). He was not feral, but he was skittish and definitely had some serious anxiety/trust issues. As a result, he was not YET a candidate for adoption. I and one of my neighbor's were feeding him, and a cathouse was built outside for him to stay warm in the winter/dry in the rain. He showed up a few times a day to eat (like clockwork) and he would nap and sleep in the cathouse. Over time, progress was being much so...that the cat was actually scheduled for a veterinary appointment (complete checkup, vaccines, etc.) on November 4th, 2020. Also, a foster was lined up to work with him over the coming weeks. ...And then tragically, he just vanished at the beginning of November 2020. I fear the worst...either he met an untimely death or I believe it is very possible that he was trapped and relocated by another neighbor who dislikes cats (unfortunately, the cat would cut through his property everyday to get to me and my other neighbor). I had checked all of the rescues/shelters....nothing. I had posted his picture here a few months ago...nothing. I am worried sick, as I do not believe that this cat can fend for himself for any extended period of time. FYI, the cat is neutered (he has a tipped left ear). Please be on the lookout for him! (*Also, please be advised, that while he may walk up to you and meow if hungry enough, being pet by a stranger will cause him stress/anxiety and he may react very negatively to that*). However, he loves being talked to...he reacts very positively to that...and he will "talk" back!!!
