Yard Sale Sites Check Shelters Daily! You can print it on Bright Color Paper, put each inside a Ziplock Baggie to keep them dry, place a Yard Sign (Like a Huge For Sale Sign) in front of your home with a photo of the dog (make sure it’s the best photo you have or add several photos for a good visual), add Breed, Color, Markings, Scars, Gender, add your phone number & a second back up phone number, If microchipped, if you had a collar with tag on your dog, the location your dog was lost at, (people who find a dog will often walk or drive around the area trying to find the owner so, post a Flyer at the place you lost your dog & around the area. (Many people travel and find dogs during their visit and take them back to their city), go around handing flyers to everyone you see, neighbors, place a few inside your car window, on trees, light poles, store windows, etc. & sharing it on the Internet. Report it to your vets and all vet offices in the area, ALL Rescues & Send them a Flyer with all of your updated info so, they can keep an eye out. You NEED to Place an Ad & KEEP WATCH under the lost and found in the Community section. (Locally & All Surrounding Areas since, someone might post that they have this lost dog or have info on a person who found this dog or they say lost dog (but, really mean that this dog is lost) & Closely Monitor it, in case your dog is being sold or offered for free or for adoption. It could take days or weeks for your dog to show up, even years. They can escape from the new family or be given to a shelter after the person moves or passes away or their living situation changes). Never Give Up! Report it & Give Flyers to the Humane Society's, Shelters (ask for assistance since, your dog could be getting processed or in a secluded area in the back or in the medical ward so, check ALL the kennels), Vets, Neighbors (knock on every door, speak to each person & hand them a flyer. They are more likely to remember your dog & most will get involved if they've spoken to you). Tell Mail Carriers, UPS, Fed-Ex handlers (suggest to everyone to use their smart phones to take a photo of the flyer so, they have it handy at all times. They may see your dog running loose or your dog in someone's yard or someone walking your dog), Dog Parks, Clinics, Groomers, Local Animal Businesses, Local News Paper Carriers & Post in News Papers (Found ads are Free), School Guards, School Children, School Board, Bus Drivers, Bus Stops, Garbage Collectors, Food Delivery People (like the Pizza guy), Utility Workers, Road Crews, Construction Workers, REPORT, Post, Join & Register this pet on ALL Facebook pages. Sometimes putting a REWARD motivates people. Keep checking all sites frequently. (Some people do not have internet & it may take them some time to take the found or lost dog to a shelter so, visit daily). You can make a FREE flyer at: www.helpinglostpets.com ~~~If you think that this maybe your dog, please don't dismiss a post because of the area or the gender. Dogs can travel 11 miles away from the lost area & Sometimes they are even picked up by someone & escaped from them as well or are released far away from where they were found or the finder drops off the dog to a shelter in a different city. They may have found the dog without a collar and put a different collar on the dog to be able to walk the dog to try to find you. Look closely at the dog. Search www.petharbor.com by putting in your zip code and “Found” “all Shelters” within 50 miles. Then go back and search “Adopt” and “all Shelters and all rescues “within 50 or 100 miles. This brings up photos of all dogs in the system. Check this every other day. Look on Facebook and on Google on the Search bar type in keywords like "found white dog Florida" and then look. They are not in order. Then try to switch and swap words around.... EVERY search, the results are different and every day the same searches are different because social media changes constantly. All these searches bring up hundreds of results each time. Thousands of people who have found an animal post photos of them SOMEWHERE on the internet. Try to use these databases to your advantage if you want to find your lost pet. Almost everyone either uses the internet or knows someone who does. Someone could be posting photos of your pets on another platform! Look under "images" after a keyword search on Google. Best of luck!! And please SHARE THIS PUBLICLY WITH EVERYONE so, others can benefit Hope this help you find your pet or help the pet you found get back to its family!
