🐱💜Dear kind compassionate neighbor. I ADORE people like you who look out for the often ignored lost/stray roaming kitty. Kitty is most likely very hungry. May I kindly suggest providing fresh water and wet food. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.🐱💜 🐱 This looks like a LOST CAT - LOST cats REMAIN very near their last residence …Unfortunately many kitty guardians give up WAY TOO SOON on the search assuming kitty is never coming back or deceased (not realizing how close they remain and/or sometimes they're trapped in a garage etc) Kitty could belong to an elderly person who lives alone and/or doesn't use the internet or know how to find kitty (or can't physically get around well). And some cats get abandoned…. 🐱 MOST (if not all) of your neighbors that live on your block - will NOT see any of these posts on pawboost, nextdoor or facebook. So Informing your neighbors in person is KEY. The neighbors around your block and across the street are exactly who need to be informed via FLYERS and/or knocking on doors and asking. THE BEST THING TO DO To find out if kitty has a guardian: 🐱💜 SCAN KITTY FOR MICROCHIP: (if approachable or lure with food) Get kitty safely in a SECURE cat carrier and get kitty scanned for a chip at any vet or shelter hopefully the chip is up to date with the owner’s contact info. 🐱💜PRINT “FOUND- IS THIS YOUR CAT” FLYERS - Post up Flyers around your block on both sides of every lamppost - and distribute flyers door to door to every single neighbor around the block (if from backyard) and also neeighbors across the street (if kitty is in front sideO . KNOCK ON DOORS and ask if anyone knows where this sweet kitty lives... leave a note or FLYER if not home ( use that blue painters tape to adhere directly to front doors or mailboxes so they are noticed. You want to cover ALL possibilities. Spreading the word IN PERSON and online/ FOUND (SHY) CAT - TEMPLATE https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Lgfdj7rfRvZa5NhiNvMCxbu_wnKPs73Z/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=102845077284118854428&rtpof=true&sd=true 🐱💜 PLACE FLYERS you post-up on lamp posts inside those ‘clear sheet protectors’ with the opening facing down’ so FLYERS don’t get ruined by weather (google clear sheet protectors - they sell at staples, target, fedex print stores and amazon) Use alot of Clear Painter’s tape to post up on lampposts. You can buy packing and painters tape, clear sheet protectors Flyer sheet protectors on amazon: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10I_aHnjJ9rX6rYbGi6v7AWUTJVqggIxD/view?usp=sharing You can get FLYERS printed at your local FEDEX print store via online COPY order for pick up- cheaper than most. Let me know if you need help creating the flyer - (free) ONLINE: 🐱 Post on nextdoor.com under 'Lost and Found’ in your neighborhood' and the 'Cat Owner' groups: 1. NEXTDOOR INVITE: https://nextdoor.com/invite/tlpjrfjfsfzzypgctspp 2. INVITE TO NEXTDOOR ‘CAT OWNERS GROUP:https://nextdoor.com/g/qazvu50sq/ 🐱 Report ‘FOUND’ cat on 24petconnect, and check for LOST cats posted. 🐱 Report ‘Found’ cat at your local animal shelter/s. In San francisco it’s Animal care & control SFACC: Send your “FOUND” Cat flyer to: sfacc.frontdesk@sfgov.org 🐱. Check your local animal shelter/s for ‘LOST’ cats reported online. For San Francisco go to https://www.sfanimalcare.org/lost-found-pets/ Thank you again for being a true angel 🐱💜 🐱💜 Damia foti 650-339-6619 (www.happycatlady.com) 🐱 APARTMENT BUILDINGS: For distributing flyer, .I always ring multiple door bells and talk to folks and/or at least get inside the lobby so I can leave a flyer In front of each apt door or if not an option then tape flyers directly next to EACH mail box to ensure everyone is aware MAILBOXES EXAMPLE _ FLYERING https://drive.google.com/.../1pQTHFCYD.../view…
