This pretty kitty looks like a Persian or Himalayan breed, definitely not like the stays I’ve seen. I think it’s someone’s lost pet.

DESCRIPTION

Timid black/brown fluffy kitty appears to be staying underneath my porch. First seen on 1/1 at 6AM and since then has been eating the wet and dry cat food I put out for it. Kitty retreats from me so I don’t want to scare it off. Kitty looks like a lost pet with a really thick scruffy coat, so has been outside for a while. I’m putting a heated cat hse outside today hoping kitty will take shelter from the cold. Otherwise, I could use some help trapping kitty if anyone is available in Annandale. Kitty is roaming around a few neighboring yards when not under my porch.

Carole Washington if he ends up being a neutered male, I’ll definitely come to check him out. I didn’t microchip him but I won’t rule that out just in case he somehow managed to get chipped. Thanks!

Teresa Fajardo that’s what I was thinking! I posted a comment on your Pawboost and facebook post. This kitty looks so similar to Turtle. Yes, it’s far but someone could have picked him up and brought him to Annandale and he escaped from them, who knows. I will try to get kitty Turtle to come closer to me.

Carole Washington my cat went missing from fort Belvoir August 2023. I know Annandale is a longer distance but he looks so similar. My cat Turtle is a neutered male cat with no microchip.

Sarah Wandawi I would if I could but I don’t have a garage and I have 4 cats and 2 dogs inside. I just picked up a bale of straw and will put it inside a heated cat house I’m putting up next to the porch. Kitty is very skittish so hopefully it will gain my trust through consistent feeding and will stay in the heated cat house tonight. This kitty is elusive and doesn’t want to be caught so we will have to go slowly to make sure kitty doesn’t take off for the woods or a busy street. I’m going to put a trail camera up by the cat house so I can get a better idea of the cat traffic outside my house.
