We just went through this. We got in contact with 2 tracking places. They suggested that we put out feeding stations that included makerel, water,, and your unwashed clothing. Surrond in powder to track pawprints. When you know where your cat is eating, you might want to set up a trap. Cover bottom in leaves and make a trail of food with bowl inside. Cover trap with dark blanket. We got trail cameras too. We kept the door cracked. I think that sometimes the cat returns but the door is shut but not everyone is comfortable with this. 20 % of cats come home on own. Most cats stay in 4 house radius and indoor cats usually stay close. Go out at 4am and shine light in trees. Check decks, sheds and porches. Talk to neighbors. Our cat returned after 12 days so don't lose hope. Praying and shared.
