Winnie's Owner/Finder Says
I just wanted to share our miracle with the LA cat community & hopefully inspire parents with missing babies:
Our baby girl, Winnie, escaped from our apartment during our move July 15th. We immediately took action, searching for her day and night for weeks to no avail. We surveyed the area with posters, posted on every missing animal site/outlet (including this page!), with no luck and many sleepless nights. We rescued Winnie at 5 weeks old, and kept her and her brother strictly as indoor cats. Never being outside, we were so terrified for her. We couldn’t imagine how scared & confused she must be, and not knowing what happened to her was one of the hardest parts for my wife and I. We just desperately wanted to know she was ok & not suffering.
Almost 7 weeks to the day(yesterday), we received a miracle phone call. She was found underneath the elevator shaft of our old building ALIVE but clinging on to life. She’s in the ICU now with severe neurological issues and almost half of her body weight depleted. The vet said she had days if not hours before it would have been too late to save her. The pure act of kindness from our neighbors & the elevator technician who stayed with her for one hour to make sure she was rescued restores my faith in humanity & I just wanted to give hope to anyone who may be searching for a missing pet, mircacles really do happen!
My wife and I started a Gofund page to help with her hospital bills if anyone feels that they can support, but love & light for a speedy recovery for our girl is forever appreciated. ❤️
