Make sure you have your receipt for ownership for your pet, your vet receipts with a photo of your pet on the vet bill, your microchip number, a photo of your tattoo on your pet (if he or she has one) and lots of photos and videos of your pet and you together. Have all of these items together in an envelope to be able to prove ownership of your pet or a rescue will not give you your pet back. Sadly, I’ve seen this happen. ~~~If you think that this maybe your pet, please don’t dismiss a post because of the area or the gender. Pets can travel 11 miles away from the lost area & Sometimes they are even picked up by someone & escaped from them as well or are released far away from where they were found or the finder drops off the pet to a shelter in a different city. They may have found the pet without a colar & put a different colar on the pet to be able to walk the pet, to try to find you. Look closely at the pet.

Report it to Your vet & all vet offices in the area, ALL Rescues & Send them a Flyer with all of your updated info so, they can keep an eye out. You NEED to Place an Ad & KEEP WATCH under the lost and found in the Community section. (Locally & All Surrounding Areas since, someone might post that they have this lost pet or have info on a person who found this pet or they say lost pet (but, really mean that this pet is lost) & Closely Monitor it, in case your pet is being sold or offered for free or for adoption. It could take days or weeks for your pet to show up, even years. They can escape from the new family or be given to a shelter after the person moves or passes away or their living situation changes). Never give up! Report it & Give Flyers to the Humaine Society's, Shelters (ask for assistance since, your pet could be getting processed or in a secluded area in the back or in the medical ward so, check ALL the kennels), Vets, Neighbors (knock on every door, speak to each person & hand them a flyer. They are more likely to remember your pet & most will get involved if they've spoken to you). Tell Mail Carriers, UPS, Fed-Ex handlers (suggest to everyone to use their smart phones to take a photo of the flyer so, they have it handy at all times. They may see your pet running loose or your pet in someone's yard or someone walking your pet), Dog Parks, Clinics, Groomers, Local Animal Businesses, Local News Paper Carriers & Post in News Papers (Found ads are Free), School Guards, School Children, School Board, Bus Drivers, Bus Stops, Garbage Collectors, Food Delivery People (like the Pizza guy), Utility Workers, Road Crews, Construction Workers, Fire Fighters, Bus Drivers and etc.
