I hope if your kitten returnsthat you take some precautions so it doesn't get out again..... When I leave my house I back my body out of the house and watch my cats to ensure they don't want to escape. I do the same when I go to my garage from my house and don't open the garage door until the house door is secured. When I return home. I don't open the house door until the garage door is all the way down since I hear many cats escaping that route. In addition, I only open my house windows and my patio door only about 3 in. So no cat can escape out of a screener window which I hear cats doing so almost on a daily basis. Just have to put precautions in place so the cats stay safely inside. Good luck. Hope to hear good news soon.....

Flyers are very important and best put in an upside down zip gallon bag. Make sure you check with local animal control in person at least a few times a week to see if your cat has arrived. It would also be good to post on neighbor's ring app which covers a 3 to 5 mile radius of your home. Make sure you check in trees where cats are often found and tree climbers had to be called for several, in shrubbery under decks and porches and ask your neighbors to check their shed and garage where cats are. Also often found. A worn piece of clothing often works well with your garage. Open about 5 in and just placed inside your garage near the opening to help attract your cat if close by or put worn clothing on your porch. Cats tend to stay close to home before they wander so there's a good chance your cat is in a one to two block radius of your home. It would be good to walk around with a bag of treats and shake vigorously or a bag of cat food especially at dawn, feeding time and dusk And with a flashlight to help catch a glimpse of your cat's eyes if it is close by. If you adopted from a rescue, they usually like to know ASAP that a former animal is missing. If your cat has a microchip, it's good to make sure that your contact information is up to date so you can be contacted if your cat is found. Wishing for a quick and safe return. Good luck!!
