Taz May God bless your dog! I highly recommend making a social media page on Facebook, Twitter etc., just for your dog. Call it something like; Help bring Taz home, lost in Oklahoma City. Make it public so all strangers can share, reply and private message you. Add all contact information. Town and cross roads where Taz was lost. Through Taz’ own social media page join all the lost pet and lost dog Facebook Groups, Twitter Groups, etc., for the town and surrounding area where your Taz was lost. Then share Taz’ page to all lost and founds social media groups, shelters and police social media in area. Make a team of family and friends to check in person all shelters social media and to call them every day. You have to plaster Taz’ face everywhere. Work FAST! Go to your local police station with a flyer with a photo on it to report your dog missing. Take clothing or shoes that you have worn and sweated in and place them outside your home and the area your pet was lost (if trap is placed near where he was lost make sure to have someone check it at least 3-4 times per day). Take a walk with a flashlight at night and again just before dawn and keep calling your pet’s name. While walking hold an open can of wet dog food or some food with a strong odor. (Such as McDonald’s) The smell might help draw your pet out. Remember that your pet is very frightened being lost and is probably in hiding, so walk calmly or they might run even from their family. Check under every bush, even large leafy plants, under cars, under porches, decks or in and behind sheds, etc. Ask neighbors to check under porches, decks or in sheds, etc. For your safety do NOT check inside your neighbors sheds or go into neighbors backyards by yourself, make sure you have a friend or family member with you that will stand aside to watch your back as you check so no one can lock you inside of anything. Especially when searching a shed or an enclosure have your friend/family stay outside. If you can not get a friend or family member to go with you to search, then never go inside a neighbors shed or enclosure. Also, don’t only call multiple shelters, go to them a few times a week. Sometimes the people answering the phones are not always up to date on all of the animals that have come in. Also call all of the vets in your area. If your pet has a chip call the company and make sure your contact information is up to date. If you offer a reward NEVER say the amount. Too little and some might not bother. While too much and some might think it’s an expensive animal and try to sell it. A good person will just want to get your pet home. Place a very large poster of your pet’s photo with information on where it was lost and your contact information and place it on your lawn. Also, get family, friends and neighbors to immediately help you place posters/flyers with photos of your dog and your contact information in plastic zip lock bags and place them in supermarkets, stores and on all the poles of your town, place them on poles outside of schools (children may see your pet while they are walking home from school.). Also give posters to the postal workers in the area. Check Craig’s list multiple times per day and every day to make sure no one tries to sell your pet. Try to get a humane trap and place on your property and or where your dog was lost to trap your dog safely. You can also call some veterinarians or shelters in your area to ask if they know of anyone who is a “Lost Pet Finder” or “Lost Pet Trapper” or “Lost Pet Search and Rescue” they have very high success rate in finding lost pets. Some times even after months of the animal being lost. They even have search dogs to help sniff out your pet. When you find a finder/trapper you can then check out their Facebook page to see what others have said in reviews or to see how many animals they have actually found. The SOONER the better if you hire a trapper that way the trail and scent is still fresh for their search dogs. There are many lost pet search and rescue trappers who do it out of the goodness of their hearts.

Put your unwashed clothes out front and backyard so dog can smell scent and find his way home
