I'm sorry that Ruby is missing. Often they haven't gone far from home and are hiding nearby so check with your neighbors!! Research shows that most cats are found within a 6 block radius of the point of last seen. Follow tracks in the snow. Please ask your neighbors to check their sheds, garages, window wells, etc. Consider putting missing flyers in your neighborhood. Also check online at the Humane Society/shelters/rescues near you. Look for them and call for them after it gets dark (around 5:30pm) and around dawn (6:30am currently) as that's when they move about. Make sure that their chip information is up to date! Put out food, water and a camera if possible. There are mixed opinions on putting out their litterbox or if you use scoopable litter even the clumps but if my kitty were lost I'd give it a try. Otherwise put out a piece of your clothing and one of their blankets. I've seen scammers replying to lost pet posts saying that they have found the lost pet. If you have to respond by messenger it is a scam. Praying that Ruby is home soon ❤️🙏 Here's a helpful resource: https://youtu.be/g2eCoC63B9I?si=nfyOzi00hC5SNFV1

URGENT 🚨Post as lost /found on the Ring doorbell app. Your pet may already be posted as seen or found 🙏🏼🙏🏼It’s free- you do not need to own the doorbell to use it. People post lost, found, and sightings of loose pets DAILY-It works like Nextdoor and POST ON NEXTDOOR APP TOO!… but RING is more anonymous. SO RING is called “Neighbors” in the App Store. Before you submit your post, make sure your contact author link is on BEFORE SUBMITTING it, and include streets missing from and check your comments and texts and phone calls periodically. Still need to go door to door asking neighbors to check security cameras because there’s other companies besides Ring & you may get a person or vehicle description of your dog being picked up so you can report as stolen and submit footage to the “report a crime” link on the local news stations. I’ve seen it get dogs returned by airing it on the news.

General Information: Hang clothes with your scent on it high up outside so the familiar scent can travel and guide the cat back home. Ask your neighbors to check their yard/could be accidently stuck in their garage or shed. (If applicable) Check doorbell or home camera - or ask neighbors to check their camera. Post Fliers with a picture of the cat and your contact information in the area the cat went missing. Not everyone is on Social Media and posters have worked in that if spotted a location can be provided. If a cat is scared they make themselves safe by finding a good hiding spot and often times hide in silence. Look in bushes - bring a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Best time to find your cat is in the early morning hours when the noise level is low and they feel safe. Leave an access point open for the cat to return. This is important if they do come back in the middle of the night. Prayers your cat returns/ or is found safely.

Put out a scent station and file a lost cat report with HSPPR. They don’t usually go too far. Go outside at night using a flashlight and search for their eyes under cars, decks, bushes and sheds. You might want to check drain/sewer pipes for meowing. They will sometimes seek safety in one and then can’t get out.
