💜Dear Guardian of LuLu...💜 try to remain hopeful ..continue taking action (sorry for repeating .... replace worn out flyers and keep taking to neighbors and checking amimal care and control in your city IN PERSON weekly - it's so important because black cats can look so similar.. Continue to leave wet food and water near escape door with CAMERA to receive notificaitons of movement. This is so KEY - we just received notificaiton 2 nights ago at a camera praying lost cat 'Deet' would show up and after 1 month of doing this - she magically appeared on camera! You just never know If/When Lulu shows up (prayfully) so this is the way to ensure you are covering all possibiltiies...I also think to FLYER again to remind folks she is still missing - 💥WiFI Camera with night vision example: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07Z841XYD... 💥WIldlife camera wifi not needed / eight AA batteries: You have to manually check footage: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B099F54JJ4... 💖POSTCARD Delivery service💖 https://lostpetcards.com/ - this family owned company will send Lost Cat Postcard (with photo and info) to the closest 1000 residents from where kitty escaped - this is an extremely efficient way to make sure your neighbors are aware your cat is missing - and your contact info is readily available if they spot kitty. I've used this service 3 times so far and always happy I did: https://lostpetcards.com/ . It’s pricey but worth it. I paid for this mailing service for a cat already missing for weeks after getting lost the same day kitty was rehomed and I needed to spread the word to neighbors as quickly as possible as I came onto the case late - weeks after kitty was already missing. Someone spotted her after a week, because he received a postcard!. We received several calls …some were false sightings so it’s important to include on the postcard “Please take a photo and call if you THINK you see my cat..(Please do not approach kitty - call me!) The other 2 times I used the service I received sightings within 2 weeks, one kitty was found within the block (and I’d already flyered door to door on the block) The way it works is you submit a form online https://lostpetcards.com/ then they will email you asking to confirm informatino, then they will send you a draft postcard and show you the zone that USPS will cover based on original location (they’ll show you on a map) 2 days later POSTCARDS will be delivered to the nearest 1000 neighbors, including apts and businesses (1000 is the minimum) at the cost is $650 – be sure to include much of the same wording asking neighbors to check garages, sheds, crawl spaces, trees etc and offering a reward for a PHOTO of your kitty - similar wording to the FLYER TEMPLATES you can download below (www.happycatlady.com). 💜🐱🙏

💜🐱cover ALL possibilities even though it can feel like alot of work - it is SO worth it and it's also nice to meet your neighbors - 98% will be empathetic and will keep an eye out. It’s best to explain that your cat is scared and WILL HIDE from ALL humans during the day but could get spotted at night when even scared cats try to make their move to come home (or again kitty could be stuck). Also, yes The WIFI camera pointed at wet food and water you leave out AM and PM is a HUGE HELP - incorporating a motion activated camera is a MUST for me now when I help folks find their lost cats...not knowing if they are stuck or hiding...spotting kitty eating at 2am on camera then hiding again will inspire you to double down on all your effort and also help you determine if you might need to TRAP your kitty if kitty continues to HIDE from you (in survival mode) ...sorry I repeat info as I just want you to be fully armed with what works. Many guardians will doubt their cat is near then shocked to find their cat literally next door after a week (sometimes they jump a fence then cant' get back)..sometimes they hided deep under a porch or get Stuck in the bat or pipe drainage area (if there is one)...cats can get in the smallest places... It's Great that you are calling for him at night...keep doing this...sometimes it takes a few nights/week of doing this and kitty finally feels 'safe' to come forward ... and sometimes you HAVE to trap because they are in survival mode and will even hide from the human they love and trust (it's not personal it's how they survive). 3 weeks ago, Lost cat 'Hugo's guardian called for him for a week straight and flyered ...then one night she heard a faint meow and hopped a neighbor's fence and found her cat disorientated...a few weeks ago a cat finally meowed from under a garage crawl space from next dooor - they had to use a drill to open up the closed opening ... And in some cases the lost cat will come forward when the guardian will sit outside for hours 10pm onward (hopefully you can do this tonight) Did he get out from the front or back do you know? If from the front and you have a garage...open the garage all the way tonight - dim lighting...and hang in there working on your computer or talking to a friend over the phone...of course stinky wet food and water .... then you can leave it 6 inches open with food and water on one side and his bedding on the opposite side (away from the food which can attract predators) . Last night we finally trapped a cat that got outside of at a cat sitters house ...the guardian thought the cat was GONE...I said NO, the cat is scared and will remain within ear shot even though there wasn't any place to hide (cement front yards) ....at night the cat would return every few days - caught on a camera I set up pointed at the food - it took a few nights to trap the cat - he had to be hungry enough to go all the way into the trap (I placed a trail of a couple of dollups of wet food at the entrance and midway the trap leading to the 'strip plate' and dish of food at the far end .... TODAY Print MORE flyers to post around your neighborhood on every lampposts (both sides) and distribute door to door to every single residence around your block and across the street... ask folks to keep an eye out and to check yards, garages...Often times a neighbor will SPOT kitty - so DO IT ALL. I'm here if you need to talk or have any questions... You can get a basic camera with night vision that will send notifications to your phone at BEST BUY in person or or via AMAZON though it may take a few days...you can always repurpose the camera or even return it once you're done ...Get one no matter what. Wishing you Love and determination you will find kitty...be patience...and don't' let ANYONE tell you kitty is GONE - I’ve helped people find cats after they’ve been lost for weeks...hang in there and focus all your worry toward taking action in all the ways mentioned. damia foti 650-339-6619 (www.happycatlady.com)💜🐱

💖🐱Dear guardian...my heart breaks for you....so sorry...please do not rely on folks seeing this post online from your neighborhood or actual block - You must let your neighbors know kitty is missing with FLYERS and no better way than to post around your neighborhood and the best way is going door to door talking to your neighbors whoever is home and leaving a flyer with those who are not home.! Even if a neighbor sees kitty outside they will assume kitty is indoor/outdoor and ok - not lost or missing - unless they are notified! ONLINE posts only gets to those actively looking at lost/found pets which is very limited. The exact neighbors you want to reach are right there near you - if you haven't gone door to door with flyers and posted up flyers on every street corner and mid street - I would highly suggest doing this TODAY. Also, in case KITTY is stuck/trapped you want the flyers to ask folks to check crawl spaces under homes, storage units, bats etc.. (Templates found on www.happycatlady.com or as me to help create for you (free) .Check FOUND cats online at your local shelters; if they don't have online website with lost cats posted daily then call them and/or visit especially if your cat is friendly with strangers as he could also be picked up and brought there (or kept at someones house). The point is to cover ALL Possibilities. Call for your kitty in a CALM voice (no stress in your voice at all) during the day and especially at night from 10pm-6am when it's dark + quiet - and you might be able to hear meow if kitty is stuck in a garage or shed - this happens all the time. Sit down and gently call for your kitty remaining in the same spot for 5 minutes..be patient…And leave a way for kitty to get back inside (porch light off at night) Check the shelters online daily (or call if they don’t post) and in person every 4 or 5 days - not all cats are shown online… ASK YOUR NEIGHBORS to check their RING CAMERA and if they can help add a missing cat alert in your neighborhood! GET A CAMERA pointed at WET food and water that you can receive notifications to check footage to see if you cat is eating and hiding when you call THEN you will need to use a HUMANE TRAP …watch youtube videos on HOW TO TRAP- watch a bunch. RENT/borrow a trap from the shelter and try asking on nextdoor and facebook in case someone can loan you asap. Sending you LOVE, HOPE and determination… damia foti 650-339-6619 💖🙏 www.happycatlady.com

🐱💖🙏 Dear Guardian .....DON’T LOSE HOPE. 'Lost cat' JiJi was found after being lost for 4 MONTHS! Cats don't go far they remain near......Continue to call for kitty - ESPECIALLY at night 10pm-6am..set your alarm for 11pm, 2am, 5am ...walk around the block and call for kitty ... If your neighborhood isn't already plastered with flyers , PRINT more flyers and add or replace flyers - IMPORTANT: knock on neighbors doors AGAIN and REMIND them that your sweet kitty is still missing and ask them to check around especially at night especially..ask neighbors with RING cameras to check the footage in case kitty is spotted...whatever you do, do NOT lost hope...keep searching and spreading the word with your neighbors door to door - they need to be reminded kitty is still out there and many many cats are found long after they are lost - we are still early in this… **IMPORTANT** PLACE A CAMERA (motion activated with night vision) aimed at WET food in bowl every day and night. ( you can buy amazon) ..OFTEN cats remain near but are in such survival mode - they will even act scared of their human's voice and won't come inside and need to be coaxed...Lost cat 'Luna' was spotted on camera after being 'lost' for several weeks, her human was shocked to learn Luna was visiting the backyard regularly late night and would come back inside (she was leaving the backdoor open for her) We thought she was stuck at a neighbors which happens all the time...and it was the help of the camera which helped her human learn about the different cats that would visit and other animals...she eventually spotted her 'live' in her backyard (she did a stake out just inside with a baby monitor) and was able to lure her back inside with food after several hours late night. I'm not saying this is your situation ...I'm saying that you can't rule anything out… WiFI Camera with night vision example https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07Z841XYD?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_TXPMEVSKHVVCW2PBGK0C listening to a podcast re; finding lost cats (episode 450 on 'The Community Cats podcast) and their advice about taking action right away and consistently....and along with late night/early morning calling out etc is getting permission from each neighbor near you to physically go into their yards to search and call for kitty (by yourself) to search under porches and anywhere they can possibly hide! Studies have proven Indoor cats remain near HIDING IN SILENCE and are mostly found within a few houses away from escape point and outdoor/indoor cats mostly within a 1 block radius...indoor cats that area scared remain near and in hiding until threshhold of hunger will make them come out of hiding to look for food though they will still continue to hide from humans...so it's important for their human to search daily/nightly and not to give up no matter what. They mentioned that sometimes when cats aren't coming back they may be ill and need medical attention so taking action to actively search in neighbors property is so important They also say that cat owners give up way too soon and cats end up at the shelter months down the road by getting trapped by a caring person - and those cats are NOT reclaimed because owners stop checking the shelters... GAIN ACCESS TO NEIGHBORS YARDS: Knock on your neighbors doors in ALL directions to ask for permission to check yards and around the premises so YOU can call for kitty today and tonight and early morning...scared cats will NOT come forward right away and they are excellent hiders! You have to keep trying this and explain to neighbors that cats protect themselves by hiding - even from their guardian - until THEY feel safe to come forward.... Check SFACC in person every 4 days🙏🙏they dont' show all their 'processed' cats online... (Borrowed the following from a caring neighbor Kaz on Nextdoor): In addition to what you're doing keep checking Animal Care & Control’s photo inventory of found cats in case someone has found the cat and turned it in. https://www.sfanimalcare.org/stray-found-cats/ Also, make sure that the cat’s microchip information is up-to-date. If you don’t have the cat’s microchip number, check with your vet who should have it in the cat’s records. In addition to updating wherever your cat’s chip was originally registered (or even if you don’t remember where you originally registered the chip), register your cat at the free Found Animals chip registry, https://www.foundanimals.org/microchip-registry/owners and the free pet chip registry, https://www.freepetchipregistry.com/ with your current contact information in order to increase the chances that if your cat is picked up, they can contact you. (I say increase the chances because sadly there are multiple databases for different chips and they are not all interconnected.) We had a sad story on Nextdoor about a lost cat ‘Gonzo’, who was found by ACC, but because the chip linked to outdated information, ACC couldn’t reach the owner, and they ultimately euthanized him because of medical issues. Sending you HOPE, LOVE and continued determination and perseverance damia (www.happycatlady com)🐱💖🙏
