MESSAGE FROM OWNER

Shadow has been with our family for 9 years. He came to us from a rescue as a kitten with 4 other litter mates. He is super approachable and friendly. He sleeps upside down and loves belly rubs. He has his sister litter mate at , a dog sister, and dog brother. He's a neighborhood celebrity and has several neighbors he visits regularly. He's been featured on our local ring network before noting how much the kids a couple streets over enjoy when he stops by. He's a hunter and helps keep the mouse and vole population down in our neighborhood. We miss him and desperately want him back . We would appreciate any help - your eyes as you're out and about and passing this notice along to friends and acquaintances.

DESCRIPTION

Seal point, long hair, white belly/chin/paw tips, Ragdoll breed, 9 years old. Large kitty - almost 20 lbs.

General Information: Hang clothes with your scent on it high up outside so the familiar scent can travel and guide the cat back home. Ask your neighbors to check their yard/could be accidently stuck in their garage or shed. (If applicable) RING camera - check camera or ask neighbors to check their camera. Post Fliers with a picture of the cat and your contact information in the area the cat went missing. Not everyone is on Social Media and posters have worked in that if spotted a location can be provided. If a cat is scared they make themselves safe by finding a good hiding spot. Look in bushes - bring a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Best time to find your cat is in the early morning hours when the noise level is low and they feel safe. Leave an access point open for the cat to return. This is important if they do come back in the middle of the night. Prayers your cat returns/ or is found safely.

Put out a scent station and file a lost cat report with HSPPR. You might want to check drain/sewer pipes for meowing. They will sometimes seek shelter in one and then can’t get out.

He/she won't be far away. Go out at night with flashlight and look for shiny eyes. Leave an opening so he/she can get back into your house. Check nearby (within 3 typical city blocks) sheds, containers, hidey holes, garages. While walking, crinkle treat package. Put up posters for folks in the area who are not on line. A nice neighbor might have let him/her in. Also please do not forget to post to 719 Lost and Found Pets of Colorado Springs, Colorado Springs Lost Pets Facebook page, Pawboost, the Humane Society, and, very important, Nextdoor (a free app for folks near your house). Finally, go to catsinthebag dot org for ideas on how to find him/her and get him/her back home. At night leave a door or window partially open...many roam in the dark when it's quiet and some come back into their homes.
