He has no collar but is microchipped. Very friendly, but can also be very shy and scared if he doesn’t recognize you or is injured. Very large, a little bit fat, orange with white marks on his tail and stomach. Goes outside a lot and usually stays close to , comes when he is called, so it’s unusual he would disappear like this and not come back.

Have your neighbors check their garages and back yards, be there when they do. Bring his carrier, a bag of his favorite treats, and a flashlight. Shake the bag while calling to him, and use the flashlight to help search poorly lit areas, even in daylight. Keep your voice calm, he might stay quiet and hidden if he senses stress in your voice. Places to search: inside and under storage sheds, under porches, decks and bushes. Anything covered with a tarp or cloth cover, inside large appliances waiting for disposal. Homes with a crawl space under it, a bat or attic - search all of them. Walk around the neighborhood: search under parked vehicles, check bushes and trees along the sidewalk. Check recessed areas and nearby structures (including where the dumpsters are kept in apartment complexes). At apartment buildings, check laundry room, parking structures, clubhouse and gym, if any. Every cat is different; some feel more secure coming out of hiding right before dark or before dawn. Try times that you feel will work best for both of you. Good luck 💕

Shared. Post Ernie on Nextdoor, and file a lost report with the shelter right away. Post flyers in the area, include veterinary offices and pet stores. Talk to neighbors when posting, someone might have video with clues or know something. Check on Pawboost, he could be on their found list any time. Check with local rescue groups, in case he's been found and turned over to one of them.
