Please read the advice shared on the Missing Animal Response Network. They have a page specific to lost cat behavior. The following search in a browser window will lead you to this site: missing animal response lost-cat-behavior I regret I cannot provide the direct link โ€“ FB in its infinite wisdom has started blocking the link as SPAM. Next, If you have not already, visit neighboring homes (don't rely upon their reading a post), ask them to look into their garages and outbuildings, checking multiple times while sitting patiently, and quietly. Cats get scared when in strange places and won't necessarily bolt for the door when it is opened, and might not even run to their person if they happen to be present. Check every logical and illogical place your cat may have gotten into in your home or on your property, to name just a few: cabinets/drawers (high and low; in garages/bats/sheds too!), closets, box springs/sofa liners (they make nice hammocks), under/behind cushions... Donโ€™t forget to check in with local vets and animal shelters. Some have had success with placing a humane trap in their backyard - luring kitty in with a serving of their regular food. Finally, for any reading this, please keep a bowl of water (ideally freshened every 2-3 days) in your garages/outbuildings for those instances when a neighborhood critter happens to find themselves trapped. Good luck, I hope to read a positive update soon!

Shared. If you haven't already, file a lost report with the shelter asap. Keep going to the shelter to check if he's been found and taken in. Post Coco on Nextdoor, and post flyers in the area. hen you post, talk to neighbors. Ask them to check security camera video for possible clues, and ask them to check their back yards and garages. Coco could've wandered in and be trapped somewhere. Be there when the search takes place. Take his carrier to keep him safe when you find him, bring a bag of his favorite treats. Shake the treats while you call out to him; keep your voice calm when you do that. He might stay quiet and hidden if he senses stress in your voice. Also bring a flashlight to help you search poorly lit areas, even in daylight. Inside and under storage sheds, under decks, porches and bushes - all should be thoroughly checked. Tree tops and the roof too. If there's a crawl space under the home, of it it has an attic or a bat, all should be checked as well. When you check along your street, search under parked vehicles, bushes, etc. Search recessed areas and nearby structures (like parking structures, areas where dumpsters are kept in apartment complexes, etc.). even if you think a space is too small, check it! Cats can squeeze themselves into very tight spaces; and will do so if they feel unsafe. Then they can get stuck there, and need help getting out. Check on Pawboost, he could be on their found list any time. Good luck. ๐Ÿ’—
