DESCRIPTION

I found this cat (left pic) on 79th Avenue. It’s a small, gray/tan/white cat who has a gray collar on. Approx. 6 months old and is underweight so could have been living outdoors for a while. I also noticed a white and white/cream cat (right pics) started hanging out nearby as well. Both have collars and look well fed but won’t come near me. I figured they could be related since I first noticed the presence of all three within the same week. If you have any ideas as to who might own any of them, please let me know!

🐱💜Dear kind compassionate neighbor. I ADORE people like you who look out for the often ignored lost/stray roaming kitty. Thank you for saving this kitty’s life! And for looking out for the kitty still outside. Kitty is most likely very hungry & dehydrated. May I kindly suggest providing fresh water and wet food in case kitty has been lost . Thank you from the bottom of my heart.🐱💜 🐱 Lost cats REMAIN very near their last residence …Unfortunately many kitty guardians give up WAY TOO SOON on the search assuming kitty is never coming back or deceased (not realizing how close they remain and/or sometimes they're trapped in a garage etc) Kitty could belong to an elderly person who lives alone and/or doesn't use the internet or know how to find kitty (or can't physically get around well). And some cats get abandoned…. 🐱 And Most folks will NOTt see these posts on pawboost, nextdoor or facebook. So Informing your neighbors in person is KEY. The neighbors around your block and across the street are exactly who needs to be informed… THE BEST THING TO DO To find out if kitty has a guardian: 🐱💜 SCAN KITTY FOR MICROCHIP: Get kitty safely in a SECURE cat carrier and get kitty scanned for a chip at any vet or shelter hopefully the chip is up to date with the owner’s contact info. 🐱💜PRINT “FOUND- IS THIS YOUR CAT” FLYERS - Post up Flyers around your block on both sides of every lamppost - and distribute flyers door to door around the block and across the street to all your neighbors . KNOCK ON DOORS and ask if anyone knows where this sweet kitty lives... leave a note or FLYER if not home ( use that blue painters tape to adhere directly to front doors or mailboxes so they are noticed. You want to cover ALL possibilities. Spreading the word IN PERSON and online/ FOUND (SHY) CAT - TEMPLATE https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Lgfdj7rfRvZa5NhiNvMCxbu_wnKPs73Z/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=102845077284118854428&rtpof=true&sd=true FOUND CAT (Friendly) TEMPLATE https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ohg8MW56MKlrZbBsddIW75Vl6QICG93f/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=102845077284118854428&rtpof=true&sd=true 🐱💜 PLACE FLYERS you post-up on lamp posts inside those ‘clear sheet protectors’ with the opening facing down’ so FLYERS don’t get ruined by weather (google clear sheet protectors - they sell at staples, target, fedex print stores and amazon) Use alot of Clear Painter’s tape to post up on lampposts. You can buy packing and painters tape, clear sheet protectors Flyer sheet protectors on amazon: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10I_aHnjJ9rX6rYbGi6v7AWUTJVqggIxD/view?usp=sharing You can get FLYERS printed at your local FEDEX print store via online COPY order for pick up- cheaper than most. Let me know if you need help creating the flyer - (free) 🐱 If Kitty is friendly and coming daily and appears healthy , consider adding a ‘paper collar’ around kitty’s neck - asking ‘if this kitty has a guardian with indoor/outdoor access’’ and wait a few days to see if anyone calls to confirm: PAPER COLLAR: www.llbrhs.com/uploads/9/4/8/1/94815396/paper-collar-template.pdf ONLINE: 🐱 Post on nextdoor.com under 'Lost and Found’ in your neighborhood' and the 'Cat Owner' groups: 1. Put fliers around the area asking neighbors if they know who’s cats they are. If no one knows, try winning their trust with food . If they seem in distress you can try trapping them to at least scan fur s microchip. They may be a new neighbors cats if they could have come from somewhere else and someone dumped them. If that is the case they would usually hide until they are hungry. Do the best way to find out is asking neighbors and scanning for microchips. If they have collars they could have microchips. Also post on Nextdoor. Hoping someone knows who they belong to
