Hi, Y’all! I’m so sorry your sweet Jim is out. Cats generally don’t go very far from home, so he’s probably close by. If you have a flashlight, go out tonight with it and shine it up in trees, under porches, bushes, cars and call Jim’s name as you’re out looking tonight. Secondly, make flyers with Jim’s picture and your contact information. Get some plastic sheet protectors ( Walmart has them in the office section.)Put the flyers inside the sheet protectors and tape the top to keep the moisture out. Post them in your neighborhood. This is a great way to ask people to help y’all look for Jim, especially those who don’t use social media. Last, look up Lovy Myers on Facebook. She’s a pet recovery specialist in the Atlanta area, and she will have a lot of suggestions to help y’all look for Jim. One more thing. If you can, leave your garage door open just enough for Jim to get inside in case he comes back trying to get back in. Don’t give up! Nothing is impossible with God. I’m praying God will keep sweet Jim safe and surround him with His angels to guide him safely back home. ❤️🙏🐾

Sharing with Prayers ❤️ If he's never been outside he will be close by most definitely. Maybe try trapping method to secure if there aren't a lot of wild animals in your area. I'm not sure of the layout of your property however I've been through this and read stories also as to where cats that go missing for months are only within a 3 to 4 house radius please Ground Search, talk to nearby residents/neighbors, anyone who owns other cats and anyone who possibly feeds strays/ferals nearby. Pass out flyers to all nearby residents asking if you can search their property. Remember cats can fit into any size hole the size of their head. If he's shy he's probably not an adventurous cat on the outside I would assume, probably more scared of his new surroundings. Even if he hears you calling him he probably will not come out if he's scared. I read a story once to where a cat was missing for 2 months and the owners tried everything in their power to bring him home however the only thing that helped in the end was GOD and notifying their neighbors and public, getting and keeping the word out, and he was found 2 months later living under their nextdoor neighbors deck off & on because he was scared. Hang posters in all major intersections, businesses, vet offices, inform aninal shelters and vet clinics in area. Also post him on Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, Ring App (in case anyone in your area spots him on their cameras), PETFBI, Petco Love Lost, and Lost My Kitty which will also send out a Lost Cat Alert. Remember God sees all. I pray for your baby to be found safely, and reunited with you and your family soon in God's timing and grace 🙏🏼❤️

An escaped indoor cat will be scared and will want to get back inside. Typically, they do this at night in the safety of darkness. Right away, before it leaves to find food, crack open the door/window it escaped from to allow it back in. If it escaped from a window, put a box under the opened window to make it easier to get back in. Turn off porch and foyer lights and contain pets in another room. It might take all night for it to come back inside. Do not put food out because you want it to come inside for food. You can try sitting outside and jiggling its dish with food in it and calmly call it to come and eat, as you would normally do. Wait and listen for a meow. It might be afraid of you. Do not chase or follow it because you want it to stay by the house. Knock on nearby doors and post laminated, readable LOST fliers with pic and phone number and "Do Not Chase" on STOP signs. They have been known to get stuck in a garage or shed and to travel up to 500 feet or 9 houses away. Register with lostcatsgeorgia.com for expert advice. You might go thru PetFBI first. It is a free service. If living in Cobb County, file lost report with Cobb County Animal Services - https://cobbcounty.seamlessdocs.com/f/lost_animal. This will have to be refiled every 2 weeks.
