How heartbreaking! Have you asked the organization that adopted your dog back to contact the new owners for you and see if they would be willing to return the dog to you if you can prove you were the owner and was trying to find your lost dog? They can be the go between bec they can’t give you the new owner’s information. Some do have a conscious and would give the dog back to the real owner in this situation. If they were out adoption fees then you could reimburse that. Just a thought.
