TIPS TO HELP FIND YOUR LOST DOG: if you haven't already, Post on Pawboost, Nextdoor.com, Lostmydoggie and Craigslist ASAP... walk the neighborhood calling pets name, notify the shelter that he’s missing, post flyers in the neighborhood. If your dog is chipped call the company and report them missing. - Put dog's bed, piece of your unwashed clothing & bowl of water (no food) in your front yard. Dogs can pick up the scents & find their way home. - If applies call microchip company to report your dog lost & update your contact info. -Smaller dogs tend to be rescued within a mile from their home. - Post on these websites: californialostdogs.com, nextdoor.com, http://lostmydoggie.com, fidofinder.com, helpinglostpets.com, petharbor.com, pawboost.com, findingrover.com - Post on Facebook area lost & found pet, community & shelter pages, in newspapers & on Craig's List. -List of sites on FB here https://m.facebook.com/notes/lost-and-found-paws-in-los-angeles-metro-area/community-lost-found-pets-facebook-pages-the-short-list/2190750350953887/ - Hang flyers (use a large, bright board or paper) w/your dog's picture & your contact info. Hang in your neighborhood, surrounding areas, local shopping centers, businesses, vet's offices, groomers, etc. Hang flyers in a 5 mile radius of your home. (See below) - Go door to door w/flyers. Speak w/as many people as possible. - Put a large sign in your front yard w/your dog's picture that says missing. Also post a neon poster at the intersection near where the dog went missing or sighted. - File lost report with shelters in your area & surrounding (you can often do it online) https://www.foundanimals.org/microchip-registry/pet-owner-lost-pet/ - Check shelters in person daily. Ask to see dogs in isolation & deceased dog list. If you can't go daily check shelter's website. ⁃ Check shelter's found report for dogs found but not at the shelter. - Take flyers to shelters. - Check the sites above for found pets & pets for sale. - These links have more great tips: https://m.wikihow.com/Find-a-Lost-Dog . http://www.missionreunite.org
