Remember he knows you are his food source. He needs a water source 24/7 and you can try food during day, but only during the day when you can monitor. Go out and shake his treat bag call him gently. Make sure to register ASAP at all the sites. Pet FBI, PetcoLoveLost, Lost Cats of IL, Pawboost, LostMKitty and your county shelter. Some of these sites generate instantly a flyer for you with his picture you provide when you file the report. Put the flyers up ASAP. They are key to alert neighbors and the community she is yours if they see him. Put them in your immediate area and further out at more major crossroads. Keep them dry by placing an upside down Ziploc bag over them. Another effective method is a live trap that you place up by your house in a position where you can frequently check it. Do this during the day with the stinkiest can of food you can find. Pull inside at dusk. At night go out with a flashlight look for glowing eyes under bushes under cars open trees. Talk to your neighbors to alert them that she’s missing. Ask them to check in their sheds and garages under their bushes. Sometimes they’re not all that far away. They’re just hiding out. At night you can try putting your garage door up about 4 inches. Do not put a litter box out because that attracts other cats that will then mark his territory or predators so you don’t want that. Put an article of your clothing out that you’ve worn. Or try the cat’s blanket or cozy for the scent. Good luck.🍀🙏🏽
