If you haven’t done so already please report missing to local police, animal welfare/control, shelters, and veterinary offices in and around your area. It’s best to visit animal welfare and shelters in person if possible, and ask to see the cats held there. If you can’t visit, please contact them and provide a description, a picture of your pet, and your contact information. PLEASE CHECK BACK WITH ANIMAL WELFARE AND ALL OTHER SHELTERS DAILY AS SOME ONLY HOLD STRAYS FOR A FEW DAYS, AFTER WHICH THEY COULD BE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. A list of Chicago area shelters is attached.

I’m sorry he’s missing and hope find him soon! Indoor cats will usually hide nearby initially. It’s important to try to find them right away. Please search your yard and ask neighbors to help you search their yards. Look in sheds, garages, window wells, under decks, cars, bushes, anywhere he could hide. Go out at night with a flashlight and look in trees near your home. You could walk or drive very slowly around the neighborhood with a favorite toy, blanket, treats, smelly food that they like while calmly calling his name. You can try to lure him home by putting laundry with your scent on it and your pet’s bed or blanket outside. Distribute flyers to neighbors, mail carriers, delivery drivers, veterinary clinics and other local businesses. Post on neighborhood pages and other lost pet pages that serve your area.
