Cat tips... place a piece of dirty clothing outside or her cat bed or blanket so she can smell home. Go outside every 30 minutes calling her name with chicken or tuna they love chicken or tuna heat it up so it smells stronger or shake a bag of treats or tap a can of wet cat food standing in one spot on your property. Please don't leave any food outside. Go outside at night every 30 minutes with a flash light look under cars in wheel wells and under bushes and up trees calling her name softly and listen for her meow. Ask neighbors to look inside their garages sheds and under decks inside car trunks hoods under BBQ covers behind sheds garages and under stairs. Put up posters and flyers in your neighbourhood mailboxes. Ask neighbours to check their camera footage. Leave a bat window open if you can or your garage door open a small amount for her to get back inside. Try to sit near the open door or window so you can secure your baby. People have suggested emptying the contents of your vacuum cleaner on your front and back lawn so she can smell home. They come out at night when it is quiet. Please go to the humane society daily if you can, a lot of cats look alike. Please don't put her litter box outside it will attract other cats and predictors. Many furbaby parents have messaged me saying they found their babies with these tips. Shared with prayers you find your baby. I pray that these cat tips help you find Aiofe

Go out at nite with a flashlight and their fav food, goodies or salmon and tuna. Look in bushes, under cars, etc. if u have a garage leave the door open a bit with his food or even a window. Make up posters and spread them around the area. Motion lights are helpful. Check the city, all rescue organizations and vets in your area every day.

Post to YYC Pet Recovery and If you haven’t already, go door to door in your community asking your neighbours. There is a good chance the cat is hiding in someone's yard. We found our cat once 7 houses away, he had been hiding under their deck and they took him in.

You may have to borrow a live trap from an animal rescue. I think The MEOW Foundation lends them out. They can also be bought from Canadian Tire or stores like that. Place the trap in a safe area where you can see it all the time and put some warmed canned tuna inside. Canned tuna can be smelled for a long way - it should bring hungry kitties running. Never leave it set up over night. During winter it is very important to watch it so no kitties freeze. If you catch a kitty please take it to a 24 hour Veterinary clinic and they can check it for a micro chip or tattoo. Hopefully they can find it's family soon. Any kitties you can catch will be much safer at a Veterinary clinic or The Humane Society. They will be safe - warm - fed and not have to worry about coyotes - bobcats or cars. The less kitties alone and starving on the streets - the better.

Also look into getting some motion sensor cameras. They will help you see if he is coming around at night. They will let you know what kind of animals are coming into your yard - if there's lots of territorial males chasing other kitties away. Please catch as many strays as possible and take to a 24 hour Veterinary clinic. They can check them for mirco chips or tattoos and hopefully find their families. Or keep them safe until Animal Services can pick them up. It's a win win. Less territorial cats chasing or fighting with your kitty and less cats breeding while homeless. Plus with winter many cats will freeze - starve or be eaten by coyotes or bobcats or hit by cars. I really hope you find your sweetie safe and soon.
