Update: we still cannot find our sweet Spunky ** PLEASE SHARE ** Our 15 1/2 year old male Lhasa, named Spunky, disappeared from the Mount Vernon Crossing Subdivision (off Mt Vernon Church Rd, between Old Creedmoor Rd and Creedmoor Rd.) Tuesday morning. He is in poor health, vision impaired and almost deaf, so he will not respond if called. We are still hopeful that someone may have him, but we also realize (and have been told numerous times) that there is a tendency for dogs to wander off to die when they know it's time. We would still like to find him - dead or alive. We began looking for him when he didn't come back to the door as he normally does after making his trip around the outside of the house Tuesday morning. Since there was such a short period of time for him to get very far (he does not move quickly) and we could not find him by foot or car, we were hopeful someone walking by the house picked him up thinking he was a stray (especially due to the fact that he is visibly not in the best of health), but we have not heard from anyone. It is as though he just disappeared. He was not wearing a collar, but is chipped. We have posted on all of the lost pet sites and social media, checked with all the area vets, the SPCA, and put out over 100 flyers in our neighborhood and on surrounding street signs. We have searched and re-searched all the areas around our home, lakes, creeks, retention ponds, as well as all the woods and power line areas near our home that we can physically get to. We greatly appreciate everyone circulating this post and any help you can give us by searching the areas around your home if you live on one of the nearby streets. THANK YOU!!! ????????????????HELP???????????????? From my mom: We have a very old Lhasa (15 1/2) that wandered off this morning. He usually stays right by the house, since he can't hear or see very well anymore, so we're hoping someone out walking saw him and picked him up thinking he was a stray. He does look a bit homeless/pitiful, because he won't let me touch or brush his face anymore. ???? Just thought I'd put a "shout out" to everyone that lives in the Mt Vernon Rd area between Creedmoor and Old Creedmoor, in case you've seen him or know someone who found him this morning. He doesn't move real fast and usually sleeps most of the day, so I doubt he's gotten far - but we have looked everywhere we can at this point. I'm hoping someone has him! He doesn't have a collar on since he stays inside, but he is micro-chipped. He's small and beige in color. His hair is about 3 inches long now. His name is Spunky, although he won't respond to it since he can't hear. ???? Thanks!
