Thoroughly check inside your home, especially if this is a new/shy/scared pet. Post simple signs (large photo, word “lost” and your phone number) in your yard and neighborhood. (Put in a plastic sleeve/page protector first.). Check the Shelter(s) at least every other day - in person! You know your pet best. Set out a scent station - unwashed items with your and/or your pet’s scent (clothing, bedding, towels, toys, etc). This step especially important if in an unfamiliar area! If you have another dog, walk the area with it on a leash. Post on the NextDoor app which covers your surrounding neighborhoods. When your pet is spotted, do not call or chase him/her!
