If you LOST your pet.
DO THIS ASAP
Be proactive
First 24 hrs is crucial
Place litter box/food/water their pet bed and some of your dirty clothes outside.
Post flyers in the neighborhood. Talk to delivery people and mail people and neighbors.
Check with neighbors for possible cameras that captured the event.
Look in garages, sheds, under decks, in bushes and window wells.
Contact chip company to update contact info and report lost. They will put out an alert.
Check with CACC and local shelters EVERYday.

(Go in person to look at any dogs that look similar. Genders posted can be wrong. A dog that has been lost can look different.)
Post on all of these

Have proof of ownership. An owner will always have many photos on their phone and vet records or adoption papers.
When someone claims to have your lost pet, do a video call to identify that they truly do have your pet.
Meet at a police station for the exchange. Do NOT send money to anyone who says that they have found your pet. If you choose to reward them for finding your pet you can give them the money at the police station in person when your pet is safely returned. Anyone not willing to do this is a scammer.
NEVER click on a Google link or provide code sent to your phone. Only scammers will ask you to do this.
Take action everyday.
