Everyone out there looking for your lost fur babies like me looking for Eitty my 18 year old Yorkie BEWARE!! Last night in the middle of the night I received a call (no caller ID) claiming to be a Dr Lee assisting Dr Ramirez with emergency surgery (as on call vets from Bond Veterinary clinic in Buckhead — not even open yet according to Bond Vet which I called this morning) at DeKalb Animal Services. Long story short when I refused to give them my credit card to pay the doctor for surgery and kept demanding proof they were who they claimed. They finally agreed to “go up to the front of the DeKalb Animal Services to call me from that number so it would appear on my phone.” THEY CALLED ME FROM WHAT WAS THE RIGHT NUMBER AND WITH THE DEKALB CO GOVT CALLER ID APPEARING. When I still refused to believe they had my old girl because they would not provide me a picture of her sedated and on the operating table (as they claimed she was). They then threatened that if I didn’t go ahead and pay that the government would pay the doctors and I would be relinquishing all rights to my dog and this was a recorded call. When I still refused to pay without proof and continued to tell them I would show up at the facility today (11/30/24) to pay and that I refused to relinquish my ownership rights they hung up. Lisa a kind person I met through my various website posts who has been so kind even told me she would meet me at DeKalb Animal Services so we could determine if this was scammers. Obviously they were which is why I’m posting this. Thanks for all the real (not fake) people who are and have been so compassionate and caring on behalf of my Eitty and efforts to find her.
