Once adopted out they become someone else pet. A lot of animal rescuers help in saving pets that have been at shelters to long and are on list for being put down. They help in finding them foster family until they can be adopted. So if your pet has been gone for awhile check your rescues. Also look under adoptable pets. And check out petango.com an adoptapet.com they show rescue animals an shelter pets up for adoption. (Found pets) Please make sure not to give to just anyone. Report to shelter you have so if owner is looking for. Guys use there girlfriends etc to get pets to us as bait to train attack dogs. It’s sad that we are seeing this a lot also we are seeing where ones claim pets and sale they are called flippers. ( there are several rescues that foster or shelters for safety of the pet) Rehoming a pet Rehoming is hard on pets also... and we want to make sure they are safe and loved. Please check out adoptee well. There are ones that will say just what you want to hear. More and more pets are being claimed that don’t belong to them to flip ( sale ) or use as bait to train attack dogs. A cruel death. 1.
