MESSAGE FROM OWNER

Rainbow just had her vet visit last month and is in perfect health. She is quite capable of fending for herself, but she usually prefers to stay around people. We have been completely stressed out just wondering what happened.

DESCRIPTION

11-yr-old Tortoishell last seen with purple collar with SJ license tag. Has wandered off before, but not for this long. Very friendly and loves attention, but doesn't like being picked up. Any information on her whereabouts would be appreciated.

David F Hall Thank you for the lovely story. My husband just said yesterday how he missed finding various rodent bits on our garage step. We miss her very much. We'll keep our eyes open for Thomas!

We have lived on Bothell Circle for 40 years. Our house has been a regular stop for Rainbow while she made her neighborhood rounds. If my doors were open she would come right in and visit for a few minutes before heading out the back door in search of prey. She did her utmost to keep the rodent population under control. I was just discussing with my wife that we hadn’t seen her in quite awhile and wondered what had become of her. We got a kitten last August and it was sometime before that I Last saw Rainbow in my front yard. My biggest worry was Rainbow wouldn’t get along with our new kitten. Last week our cat Thomas bolted out the door and hasn’t been seen since. I haven’t heard the coyotes for some time either but it certainly is a possibility. We can only hope that both Rainbow and Thomas make it back home.

Celeste Spangler we recently moved on this area and did not know of coyotes. I heard them a couple of times. Last week three nights in a row. And yes Oskar was also an outdoor cat. I’m still hoping he’ll turn up on my doorstep.

Yes; we've been here long enough to be well aware of the coyotes. We knew it was a risk; but Rainbow absolutely refused to be only indoors, and she was incredibly self-reliant. I remember thinking a couple of nights after we last saw her that I had _not_ heard coyotes recently. That doesn't mean they're not there, though, and we have to consider a coyote (or several coyotes) was most likely responsible for her disappearance.
