Also scroll through the photos on this page and see if they picked your dog up https://www.facebook.com/share/fvyTo8RBbZQM41fj/ How are people supposed to reach you if they see your dog running in the road? Put your phone number on your ads! I'm sorry but I do this all day and don't even own a dog and it gets really freaking aggravating that people don't post a phone number. It's hard enough to look through hundreds of lost dogs every week without having no phone number to contact the owner. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/eaGQUqRvDjKE9ogv/ Follow this page on Facebook so if your dog comes up on The Hit List you can save it. Pitbulls are euthanized everyday nobody wants to adopt them. You have 3 days to find your dog if it's at the shelter before they can it. You have to stay on top of it. These dogs are put down all the time at the pound because the owners don't show up. The rescue community volunteers work very hard to find the owners but the majority of them just try to find new homes for dogs because it's too hard to find owners when they're not looking all over for their dog themself. But anyways here's some information to help you find your dog. Lost pet: 🎯 I got 4 pets back to their owners in October same day because they were posted on NEIGHBOR app! Also post on Fb groups for your city. Post your missing pet every other day on neighbor AND next door. Post find/lost pet on: Petcolove . org ( it shares to next door. Don't forget to pull up the post there and keep an eye on the comments.) 🔥 Dogs are usually within a mile of your home 🔥Cats are usually within 8 to 10 houses of your home. Focus on heavy awareness in the IMMEDIATE vicinity! Search other posts as well. After a week, offer a reward to inspire those that aren't paying attention. Put option to call or text on your ad. App uses different #. Doesn't help when people comment they've seen your pet but u don’t see it for 2 hours by then pet is gone. Make it easy to reach you! Finders often hold a pet about a week then call the pound. After 3 days your pet could be euthanized!!! Extremely important to stay on top of checking their intake, NOT the adoptables🔥🔥 🔥AFTER A FEW DAYS: Still lost? Search petfinder . com as if you are looking to adopt, pet might be with a rescue up for adoption! Use least amount of filter options possible, could be listed incorrectly!! Home again and AKC pet reunite when you report a dog lost sends out notifications to all vets/shelters/subscribers within a 10 mile radius. Mcacc and AHS also get notifications regardless of the zip code the dog was reported in. Dogs are being put down based on the “finder” saying behavior is. Owners have 3 days to find their dog. Check both locations. Should be running to the shelters, file a lost report, to be reunited ASAP to save your dog's life. Over 100 dogs recently euthanized were never even listed for adoption. Animal Care and Control is not a rescue/Doggie Daycare. Contact your chip company immediately as lost. Phone number not current on tag? Call your old phone number, offer reward if they forward calls regarding your pet. Missing for a while? Some of the resYour pet could be out sniffing around, enjoying the weather. Someone could have taken it in for safety, Cats could have gotten into someone's backyard and their dog gets a hold of it, or they trap and take it to the pound, a rescue or the Humane Society. Everybody doesn't love cats, very dangerous for them to be outside between other animals and those that don't like cats. Top places to post: The neighbor app - immediate neighborhood coverage and this is affiliated with ring doorbell cameras. The next door app - immediate neighborhood coverage Petcolove: report missing/found 24petconnect Easiest places to post: Facebook groups, Straydar, Lost Dogs Arizona, Lost Missing Pets Phoenix. The rescue Community works these groups and keeps an eye out for pets as well. Lost dogs Arizona can take 24 to 48 hours to approve a post. Straydar is pretty quick. Found a pet? Please realize the owner could be out there desperately searching. 🔥Dogs usually within a mile, Cats usually within 8 to 10 houses of home. Focus on heavy awareness in IMMEDIATE vicinity! 🔥I got 4 pets back to their owners in October same day because they were posted on NEIGHBOR app! Gives Immediate neighborhood coverage and affiliated with ring doorbell cameras. Don't need to have ring to get it. Also next door app. Post on Fb groups for your city, & Straydar fb pg ( large group and quick to approve posts.) All pets are not dumped though many are. Sometimes an angry roommate or ex dumps a pet, pet sitters lose pets, wind blows gates Etc. 🔥Also post on: Petcolove . org partners with veterinary offices to get pets back. Over 100 dogs recently euthanized were never even listed for adoption. PAWBOOST: good and bad. Post on there at least 1x so it's in the system. BUT GO TO pawboost Facebook page! THATs where the rescue Community comments if they see your pet! You can't see comments if your dog is spotted if you're not on the fb pg. STAY checking the comments. Re the website: People AREN’T going to take the time to go pull up the website & scroll through 10 pages of pets to find a specific pet and reach out to you 9/10x.🤨 Too much work! make it easy for people to find you and connect with your pet. 👉Please remember chihuahuas, little white curly dogs, German Shepherds, Orange cats, Tabbies … Are a dime a dozen and look the same to people. You can't just POST & WAIT for people to contact you!

Here are the urgent steps to take to help find the owner or your lost dog. There is also a list of the most used and viewed resources you may not have tried at the bottom including a link to contact shelters/rescues in your area. Do what applies to your situation: 1. If this happened in your neighborhood, put a large sign in your yard that says LOST or FOUND dog with basic information. Most dogs are within 2 miles of their home. Communicate with neighbors. The more people that know the better. If LOST, also put your recently worn clothes outside, so the dog can pick up your scent. 2. If you FOUND a dog, have the dog scanned for a chip at a vet, 24/7 Emergency animal clinic, Animal Control or Humane Society. Make sure they scan the WHOLE body as chips can move. (Petco and Petsmart are not good choices as they may not carry a universal scanner and may miss picking up a chip.) Make sure the dog is secured first with leash and collar, so it can't bolt when taking for a scan. It's free and you shouldn't need an appointment. Call ahead of time to see if they have a "universal" scanner. If the dog is chipped, but THE CHIP IS NOT REGISTERED, ask the chip company for the contact information of the vet who chipped the dog. 3. If you LOST your dog and it is chipped, alert the chip company IMMEDIATELY and make sure all of your contact information with them is current/correct. 4. Make sure your post includes a picture of the dog, the location including city and major cross streets, and the date and time it happened. 5. If it happened in Maricopa County, use this link to add to their LOST and FOUND map.: https://www.maricopa.gov/162/Lost-Found-Pet Then, either call Maricopa County Animal Care and Control to report LOST or FOUND dog at 602-372-4598 from 8 am to 5 pm, OR use this link to fill out their Lost or Found form.: https://www.maricopa.gov/162/Lost-Found-Pet 6. If the dog was lost or found in another county, please contact that county's Animal Control to report as lost or found. 7. Put SIGNS up throughout the area it took place because some people are not on social media. Get a bright poster board from the Dollar Store and a fat marker. Cut poster board into 4 pieces, write LOST or FOUND DOG, phone #, and include a picture of the dog. Keep it simple since drivers only have seconds to see it. 8. If you can't catch the dog OR need additional help finding your lost dog, contact Hartt Animal Rescue and trapping for help.: 602-601-2604, https://azhartt.org/ Hartt form to fill out to trap stray animal: https://azhartt.org/strayhelp/ Hartt form to fill out to get help with your lost pet: https://azhartt.org/programs-services/lostpethelp/ 9. EMERGENCY: If you FOUND a SICK, INJURED, ABUSED or NEGLECTED STRAY and you need an ambulance, call the Arizona Humane Society's emergency Field Dispatch at 602-997-7585, ext. 2073 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. After hours, take to your nearest 24/7 emergency animal clinic. 10. If you FOUND a SICK, INJURED, ABUSED or NEGLECTED STRAY and it is NOT an emergency, contact Arizona Humane Society at 602-997-7585 between 8 am and 5 pm or follow links below. If after hours, take to your nearest 24/7 emergency clinic. FOUND: https://www.azhumane.org/found-a-pet/ LOST: https://www.azhumane.org/lost-a-pet/ 11. If you think your dog was STOLEN, call non-emergency police. Keep in mind, dogs are usually considered property and you may only be able to file a police report. However, this will help for legal purposes. 12. If you found a DECEASED dog, call your city's deceased animal pick up. 13. If you FOUND a dog, you contacted Animal Care and Control and/or the Arizona Humane Society and they cannot take the dog today or if it is after hours and you have no way of keeping the dog safe, call non-emergency police or bring the dog to the police station. 14. IMPORTANT: If you FOUND a dog, be sure to verify proof of ownership including pictures and vet records before handing it over to anyone. Unfortunately there are people who search these sites who will try to claim as their own without proof looking for a free pet. They can be very convincing. They may just repeat specific information YOU added in your post, picture or comments, but only want to harm the dog. If anyone offers to foster or adopt if the owner is not found and you don't know them personally, PLEASE ask a rescue to help make sure the person is legit or follow this link and scroll to #6.https://petsandpeopletogether.org/find-a-new-home-for-a-pet If a person wants to foster and says they are part of a rescue, PLEASE contact the rescue to verify. The link to rescues in your area is listed below. 15. IMPORTANT: If you LOST a dog, be careful of people trying to SCAM you. They will contact you and "say" they have your dog and want money from you. If you are offering a reward, do not provide the reward until the dog is in your possession. OTHER RESOURCES: 24PetConnect: Use the filters on the site to narrow or expand your search: https://24petconnect.com/ Maricopa County Animal Care and Control Lost/Found instructions: See number 5 above. If you LOST a dog and it happened in Maricopa County: Go to Facebook and Search for "MCACC Field Officers". Arizona Humane Society Lost/Found instructions: See number 9 and 10 above. If you LOST a dog, go to Facebook and search for "Arizona Humane Society Found Dogs". Hartt Animal Trapping and Rescue: See number 8 above. Continue looking on these sites DAILY! Sites are updated all day long. The finder may hold onto a found dog for days or weeks BEFORE reporting. Finder may be required to make an appointment for the dog to be taken in by the shelter which is why you need to keep checking. SHELTERS AND RESCUES ARE VERY FULL. THANK YOU FOR KEEPING THE DOG SAFE OR DON'T GIVE UP IF SEARCHING. Please update your post if the owner or lost pet is found. PSA: As a community, we all need to spay/neuter our pet, keep a collar and tag with contact information on our dog, vaccinate, chip AND register the chip and STOP backyard breeding. Thanks!

If you haven’t done so already, please put up flyers everywhere with an offer of a reward for his return. Give to vet’s offices and groomers. File a lost report with the MCACC at 602-372-4598. My dog is diabetic, so understand your worry for him. Praying you find him soon. Shared.
