Description

My sweet Dahlia got out when we had a pet sitter at the hse. She is a female Siamese with blue eyes and was wearing a blue flowered collar with a bow and bell. She is friendly and not shy. REWARD IF FOUND!!!!!!! We miss her terribly!

Message from Owner

We just returned from a trip and my indoor Siamese girl got out while the pet sitter was at my hse. She is friendly, not scared of dogs and never goes past my neighbor’s hse. She is wearing a blue flowered collar with a bell. Please let me know if you see her.

Put a dirty piece of your clothing outside. She should come to it.

I've heard that putting the litter box outside might help (especially for indoor cats). They have an incredible sense of smell. I hope she returns. She's gorgeous.

If you can just crack your doors open for a little while or your garage she might run back in.

Since Dahlia is normally an INSIDE cat... then she is definitely scared and hiding and you will need to go out at NIGHT with a flashlight and look for her “glowing” eyes. She is VERY CLOSE to your house… most likely in YOUR OWN YARD. They usually find a hiding spot very quickly and very close to where they escaped. Look up in the trees and check under everything in YOUR YARD first… under decks, under sheds, inside bushes, wood piles and storm drains. Then check your neighbors yards. They are very good at hiding. THE BEST TIME TO FIND HER IS AT NIGHT WITH A FLASHLIGHT AND HER EYES WILL “GLOW” BACK AT YOU. Dahlia is so scared, she will NOT respond to you calling her, so you'll have to use your eyes instead of your ears to find her. When cats are suddenly outside, they go into "survival mode" and their entire personality changes. They will NOT wander. They find a hiding spot very close by and are very scared and will not come out for anyone... even their owners. I hope you find your fur-baby very soon!

Have neighbors check garages and sheds. Have a tree out back? Check that too. Leave your garage door up a little so they can return home to a familiar place. Place a box outside with blankets or even the clothes you wore today so a cat can pick up the scent and make it home. If you are new to this area, have friends keep an eye out at your former home. And please: CHECK THE LOCAL SHELTERS DAILY I hope your kitty makes it back home safe very soon. Please make sure to get your cat chipped once they return, and PLEASE keep them indoors! PLEASE NEVER LOSE HOPE! Male wanderers tend to stay within a territory of about 150 acres, while females stay closer to home, roaming only about 40 acres. This means that your average male cat is likely to stay within 1500 feet of home, while your average female tends not to go much farther than 75 yards from your door. Be careful of the lost pet finders. Most of them are playing on your emotions and wanting cash up front.!
