Bonnie Falk we think it is a coyote, but obviously we aren't sure! Can you pinpoint the *time* that your disappeared? My cat was ed between 3am and 6am, 100% sure. And two other cats in our neighborhood have disappeared in the last year, too! Same story with all of these 3: Experienced indoor/outdoor cats with very precise patterns and times they went out vs. times they came in, for YEARS (i.e,. 10+ years). He also came immediately running when called, even if he was deep in the forest. UGH. We had been thinking of putting up an outdoor camera for months, but hadn't. We have one more cat left, who is very upset her best friend has vanished, and she goes outside too but typically never goes further than the nearest flowerbed to the door and not at night. But maybe that still isn't safe. I've been crying and sick to my stomach most of the weekend. I may call you after a few days; I am trying to talk to another pet tracker on Monday. I tried to get a tracker out on Friday when the scent was fresh, but they were already out on another trek.
