Ranger has been missing since 11:30pm last night. He is the sweetest boy and would probably come if called. He is wearing an orange training collar.

Go outside and look under porches, decks, bushes and cars. Check window wells. At night use a flashlight. The eyes will reflect the light. Put out food and water and familiar scented clothing or blanket. Alert your neighbors, local police, vet clinics, shelters and mail person. Put up signs and post on Nextdoor and any neighborhood pages. Hope you get your dog home soon! ❤️ Post to Lost Dogs of Wisconsin

I suggest you Also post on Lost Dogs of Wisconsin They reach a lot of people too. When my newly adopted dog slipped his harness I used a Template they have to make flyers and put them around. I received a lot of sightings and with the help of some great people I got him back after 17 days.

Follow these tips per CMM Lost Pet Recovery and Humane Trapping: https://theretrievers.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/TheRetrievers_ActionPlan.pdf Create a scent station (items with your/your dog’s smell - unwashed bedding, clothing, etc toys, etc.). Check it often, especially quiet times (late evening/early morning). This step especially important if in an unfamiliar area! If you have another dog, walk the area with it on a leash. Check nearby Ring/security cameras in the area. Post simple signs (large neon poster, large photo, word “lost,” your phone number) in your yard and neighborhood. (Put in plastic sleeve/page protector first.). Contact the microchip company (be sure your contact info is up-to-date). Check the Shelter(s) at least every other day - in person! You know your pet best. Post on NextDoor app as covers your surrounding neighborhoods. If your dog is not spayed/neutered, may be why it is “lost” and traveling. When your pet is spotted, do not call or chase him/her! Just sit down on the ground and be very quiet. He/she is scared and any voices can push it away (even familiar voices). https://www.pawboost.com/blog/8-helpful-tips-for-finding-your-lost-dog/. Also, pet stealing is on the rise sadly. Check https://petfbi.org/how-to-protect-your-pet/stolen-pets/ for tips. Includes filing a police report, contacting your local media, checking Craig’s List where your pet may be posted for sale. Hope your pet is home safe and soon. (Note: if anyone asks for money or a code as “they have your pet,” this is a scam)
