It isnt recommended to put litter box out but put your dirty laundry out on a deck or patio close to the house so the cat can sleep on the clothing. They can smell your scent for wuite a distance. Stand in an open doorway and shake a treat bag but dont yell his name out. You can cough quietly, yawn etc. but dont call it. It may scare the cat away.

You may want to place his litter box outside the scent may bring him home. Also check the animal shelters and animal control in-person often. I hope 🙏 he comes home soon.
